Summer Reading is A Blast!

Earn 1 chance in the drawing for every 200 pages you read. EX: 1,000 pages = 5 chances!

Level I: 200 - 399 pages-1 chance in Drawing Level II: 400 - 799 pages-2 or more chances

Level III: 800 - 1,249 pages-4 or more chances Level IV: 1,250+ pages-Metro Beach Trip, 6+ chances

“Read” includes read to you by someone else IF you’re in Preschool, Kindergarten or Primary

(1) LAKE ST. CLAIR METROPARK! * Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 • The trip to St. Clair Metro Park is a reward just for students meeting

the reading requirement. Students who have not met the requirement will be expected to attend school that day.

• Includes lunch in the park’s Activities Center: The Great SJA BBQ! • Available fun includes: golf($), mini-golf($), roller blading, nature

center, Tot-lot/play-ground area, baseball, volleyball area, and shuffleboard.

• Qualifying students will be free from school, with no make-up work. • Student may swim in the lake only if their parent accompanies them.

(Metro will have closed the pool by this date.)

(2) BONUS DRAWINGS: READERS ARE LEADERS!

• One reader in Grades 5-8 will win in a drawing to be PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY! (Yes, you’ll be in charge!) And one in Grs. 5-8 will win the drawing to be ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL FOR A DAY! One reader in Grs. 3 & 4 will win in a drawing to be PRINCIPAL FOR A HALF-DAY! And one in Grs. 3 & 4 will win in a drawing to be ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL FOR A HALF-DAY!

• 16 Readers in Preschool-Grade 2 will win a special SJA Readers’ Mascot, similar to SJA bear from previous years!

• “WALL OF FAME” and certificates for students who read 5,000 or more pages!

(3) ENTER OUR PHOTO CONTEST! • Have a picture taken of you in your favorite ‘reading space’

or with a book about space • Top-10 photos win a gift card! • Enter once, enter twice, enter all your 4”x6” photos! • PHOTOS ARE DUE IN SCHOOL TUESDAY, AUGUST 27TH

(4) BOOK LIST DIRECTIONS: • List titles, authors, and pages totals

(use extra paper if needed) and have Mom/Dad sign it! • Preschoolers, Kindergartners and Primary students can also list pages that have

been read to them, including the picture pages. • If you read the whole book, count all pages, even those with just pictures. • If you read an e-book, count the number of pages a book has in print form.
