SUMMER INTERNSHIP GUIDELINES

FOR

MBA STUDENTS

FROM

04th July 2012-14th August 2012

Introduction

The overall objective of summer internship is to experience the way in which organizations

function in given environment. The keyword is experience. Experience has two dimensions.

1. i. Understand the industry in which the organizations operate.

ii. The business model of the organization

iii. Understand particular functional area such as Marketing, Finance, HR, etc.

2. i. Apply knowledge of research methodology to analyze the problems or issues faced by

organizations

ii. Understand how various principles you have learned during one year of course work is applied

in the real time businessworld.

iii. Learn the changes that are taking place in the businessworld.

Host Organization Responsibilities

An organization that accepts one of our student is responsible for:

1) Attempting to integrate that student into the organization's activities;

2) Providing supervision for the student during the internship;

3) Planning a range of activities for the student;

4) Participating in an evaluation of the student at the close of the field experience.

Intern's Responsibilities

The student, in acceptance of an internship, agrees to:

1) Abide by the rules and regulations of the host agency;

2) Keep all matters confidential that are so designated by the host organization;

3) Maintain a professional demeanor during the internship;

4) Maintain contact with the ISBR University; and

5) Meet the academic requirements of this program.

Student's Academic Requirements

There are some very important academic requirements in this Internship. Briefly stated they are:

1) Preparing a summer internship report; and

2) Presenting a seminar on the internship report.

3) Maintain a work diary of day to day activities.

Evaluation of the Internship Report and Work Diary

Students have to submit a Summer Internship report and work diary to the concerned guide which

would be evaluated for50 marks each through internal valuation, on 16th August 2012 failing

which he/she will not be allowed to appear for the third semester.
