    Summer in Newham

    July-September 2010

WelcomeNewham does more than any other local borough to provide opportunities for people to get together, join in and have fun.

Our summer events programme is packed with free entertainment for families and young people, including the fantastic Summer School, which provides free courses on everything from learning a language to brushing up on maths skills. And once the school term ends, there are plenty of interesting things for young people to do this summer holiday, whether that’s joining a sports club, trying something new, doing a course or meeting friends at one of our local youth centres.

We’re proud to say that more than 100,000 people fl ock to our summer events every year and no wonder! Free entertainment, top musicians and local talent, fi reworks and so much more.

Your summer really kicks off with two days of free family fun at the Newham Show on 17 and 18 July and this year our four-day music extravaganza Under the Stars will be held over the August Bank Holiday from 26-29 August. Look out for performances from both international artists and local talent.

In this special programme you’ll also fi nd details of everything happening in Newham over the summer from libraries to leisure centres, parks to farms.

Summer’s fi nally here so get ready for the best free entertainment around.

Sir Robin Wales Kaycee De Belen Mayor of Newham Young Mayor of Newham
