Call to Artists
Summer Gallery is an exhibit of Tubac Center of the Arts member artists & Santa Cruz Valley artists. showcasing a variety of art mediums from painting to jewelry, sculpture to photography, and more. The exhibit is hung by participating artists Salon Style, from floor to ceiling.
The exhibit includes a community supported opening reception on Friday, July 31st from 5-7 pm.

Fees:Exhibit entry fees are based on linear/square foot. Artists may rent 2D wall space (linear ft) or 3D floor/pedestal space (square ft) to exhibit their work. 2D work is hung Salon Style. Member Fees: $15 per linear foot or square foot Non Member Fees: $18 per linear foot or square foot
Jury Process:Artists that have previously exhibited in the TCA Summer Gallery in the last 2 years can submit their application without jury and are automatically accepted if they meet the eligibility requirements. (See #1 under Important Information)
Jurying will be done on the basis of digital images in a jpg format only. Send an email to [email protected] with 2-4 image samples of your work that you intend to exhibit along with a list of works that includes Title, Medium, Dimension and Price, your artist bio and artist statement. Title your images with your first name, last name, artwork title, and exhibition name in the name of the file. Example: First_Last_Title_SummerGallery2015.jpg

Delivery/Hanging:Artists are responsible for delivery and hanging of artwork in a professional fashion during specified installation times. Please provide your own nails & hanging hardware. After your notification of acceptance, you must make an appointment to hang.
TCA will supervise hanging/installation. TCA will provide a limited number of pedestals for 3D work, levels, measuring tapes, hammers and ladders.Unsold work must be picked up after close of the exhibition.
Sales:All work must be for sale. TCA will retain a40% commission. Price work accordingly.
Artwork:Giclee reproductions are not permitted. Exhibited work must be original, entirely the work of the artist, executed within the last 24 months.
Exclusions in Future Exhibitions:Any work exhibited in Summer Gallery is INELIGIBLE for inclusion in any TCA exhibition for the following two seasons: 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
Important Information:Please read thoroughly!
1. Eligibility: Artists must either be a TCA Member in good standing or must reside in the Santa Cruz Valley.
2. A limited number of artists may rent space in the gallery at TCA during the Summer Gallery exhibit. Artists will be chosen by jury review of work samples. First come, first served.
3. Notifications of acceptance will be provided on a rolling basis.
4. Wall space will be ASSIGNED by TCA staff upon entry acceptance. First come, first served.
5. TCA will be open ONLY Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
6. Artists who participate in TCA’s Summer Gallery will be required to gallery sit during the exhibit for at least 2 shifts, 10:00 am - 1:00pm or 1:00 pm - 4:30pm.
7. Artists are encouraged to contribute an appetizer to the opening reception. TCA will provide wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and supplies for the reception.
8. Artists are encouraged to promote and market the exhibit and their work individually.
9. Artists are encouraged to schedule demonstrations and other special events during the duration of the exhibit to enhance publicity and visitor attendance.
10. Work exhibited during Summer Gallery will not be accepted in TCA exhibits for 2 years.
11. Artists must email an excel spreadsheet of inventory to be exhibited including title, medium, dimension and price no later than July 20, 2015 to [email protected].
Images:Artists agree to release use of images of accepted works to TCA as a permanent record of the exhibition and for promotional use relating to the exhibition and the art center.

By signing below, artist agrees to all the terms and conditions noted in this prospectus and commits to exhibit in the Summer Gallery, hang and remove their work as scheduled, and volunteer to gallery sit during the exhibit. Artists agree to email an excel spreadsheet of the inventory and jpeg images they exhibit for the printing of wall cards. Artists understand that work exhibited in the Summer Gallery 2015 is not eligible for inclusion in TCA exhibitions for two seasons: 2015-2016 & 2016-2017.
