go for a spin in the euer valley! Looking for something fun to do with week-end guests? Rent some bikes and explore the area! Tahoe Donner offers bike rentals and guided rides on our extensive trail system, with a new home base at the Equestrian Cen-ter offering easy access into the Euer Valley.

Our bike fleet is stocked with a variety of Giant brand bikes from road bikes, comfort

bikes and hard tails to full-suspension moun-tain bikes. We have a full array of options for families, including kids bikes, trail-a-bikes and trailers for little ones. Our experienced bike mechanics are also on hand and willing to help get your own personal bike tuned up and ready for your next ride. The Beach Club Marina will continue to offer beach cruisers if you are look-ing to ride around the lake.

strava competition For this summer, we have created three new Strava segments which correspond to the most popular beginner, intermediate, and advanced trail loops ridden from TD Bikeworks. Strava is an independent website which allows users to compare their times on certain segments of roads or trails to others who have ridden that particular segment. We will have a season-long competition to see who can ride each loop the fastest. Remember to stay in control and ride responsibly. You can use your own iPhone, Android, or Garmin device, or you can rent a Garmin bike computer from us for $10 per day. Call for more information.

trail rides Our experienced wranglers and trail-wise horses will take you on a ride through high mountain forests and upland meadows or down into the lush Euer Valley full of wildflow-ers, grazing cattle and icy cold mountain streams. California black bears, mule deer, chickadees and red-tailed hawks are frequently spotted during rides. The sounds of wildlife along with the whisper of wind in the trees blend into the sound of the hoofbeats of your mount. Sway in the saddle, relaxed, as the sun warms your shoulders while you take a break from the electronic world. The only communication devices needed are the reins guiding your horse.

Trail riders must be at least 7 years old and 4 feet tall. Our weight limit is approximately 230 pounds. These are scenic walking rides (with a little trotting) in Western saddles and are offered at regularly scheduled times. Reservations are required. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy.

saturday night bbq The Saturday night BBQ is a family favorite and sure to delight the young and young-at-heart. The fun begins at 5 p.m. with games, mini wagon rides, crafts, contests, dress-up and delicious food. Play a game of horseshoes or try your hand at throwing a rope. Bring the camera for pictures at the dress-up and photo station with old West and Renais-sance costumes and backdrops. There's a craft station, piñata, and even a hunt for the golden horseshoe. A family water balloon toss finishes off the evening. Some BBQs may have a specific theme such as Mexican fiesta or Re-naissance night, with special entertainment, crafts and menus. On the BBQ menu are hot dogs, veggie burgers and hamburgers with an extensive gourmet topping bar. Ranch beans, salads, desserts and campfire s’mores round out the menu. Complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks are also served. Reservations are required with a 72- hour cancellation policy. Ask us about private BBQs: great for reunions, birthdays, groups and other special events!

equestrian camps They're back! Due to popular demand we are bringing back our week-long programs. For ages 8 to 14, these are half-day, week-long riding camps for groups of four students with

a two-to-one student to teacher ratio. Each student has their own horse for the week and will learn the fundamentals of horsemanship, safety and riding skills. Grooming, tacking, arena work, trail riding, bathing and a horse show on Friday are all part of the curriculum.

All camps are open for beginner through intermediate riders. A morning and afternoon session is offered each week; mornings run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. Reservations are required and there is a 14-day cancellation policy. You may reserve online by visiting tahoedonner.com (select the Shop TD option at the top of the page) or call our reservation line at (530) 587-9470. Camp sign-ups are open now.

• No camping or fires are allowed.

• Until 2014, free range livestock will be present in the valley. please avoid them and proceed with caution.

• The valley is a “pack in/pack out” destination. please do your part to keep this a litter-free landscape.

• Respect the privacy of those who live adjacent to the euer valley, including at the end of alder creek road. Sound lev-els should be kept low and any vehicles should be parked at the equestrian center.
