• Payment must be made for the full block regardless of whether the child is unable to make all of the sessions.

• Sports Coaches will no longer be accepting payments on the day, so please ensure that your place is booked. Numbers are restricted on most activities.

• The activity details in this leaflet contain specified age ranges for each activity. Please note carefully to avoid misunderstandings.

• In the event of insufficient numbers (minimum 8 register), please note that sessions will be cancelled. Sessions that fail to reach a minimum of 4 participants will be cancelled before the first session date. Sessions with between 4-7 participants will be delivered on the first day incase others sign up on the day.

• Please note, that refunds for any cancelled activities will not be processed until the end of theSummer Holiday period. If you have not received a refund within 8 weeks please contact Sports Development on 01343 563657.

• Staff will only be responsible for supervising children within the specified hours. Children should not be left early and must be collected promptly. If parents are happy to allow their child/ren to walk home unaccompanied, please indicate this onthe form.

• If you do not wish your child/ren to be included in any publicity photos/videos, please indicate on the application form where appropriate.

• Please bring a bottle of water or still juice and a snack to these activities unless otherwise stated.

• This leaflet contains the activities on offer to youngsters during the Summer Holidays. Participants will be able to learn and develop their skills in a fun and relaxed environment. All equipment will be provided at these sessions for participants. When attending, please ensure participants wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Activities On OfferPlease note some of the camps run for two days, three days or the whole week. We haveprovided these new choices on parental request through our Sports DevelopmentEvaluations. We try our utmost to accommodate all and value your support in providingus with your feedback.

Badminton/Tennis/Basketball/Hockey/Trampolining SessionsThese coaching weeks are designed for youngsters who would like to improve their skillsin a particular sport or try a new sport. Throughout the week, participants will becoached on all the different aspects relating to the sport as well as taking part in a varietyof fun games and activities.

Mixed Olympic SportsDuring these sessions, youngsters have the opportunity to try out a number of sports suchas football, hockey, basketball, rugby, club golf, rounders, and athletics and will also begiven tasters in the racquet sports of tennis and badminton. The sessions will include funwarm-ups and sport related fun games to improve skills whilst teaching the basic rules ofthe sports. Tournaments will take place throughout the week.

Active StartDuring these sessions, pre-school youngsters have the opportunity to be introduced to thefirst steps into sport. Sports include basketball, football, athletics, racquet sports,orienteering and dance.

All Day Olympic Games CampsThese sessions are day-long sports specific camps filled with a variety of competitionbased games in the sports of football, cricket, rugby and mixed sports (racquet sports,basketball, athletics, hockey, rounders, parachute games etc). Participants sign up for awhole day of activities from 8:45am – 3:30pm and rotate between each activity.Please bring a packed lunch and sufficient water/still juice and snacks.

FootballOn the football courses, participants will be able to develop their individual skills such asthe Messi, Ronaldo, Giggs & McFadden! Participants can then try and execute thesemoves in a game environment. All sessions are delivered in a fun and relaxed mannerwith each course member receiving a certificate at the end of the week.

CricketAt these camps participants will learn the skills & techniques within the sport of cricket.Fun games and competition will be incorporated into the session. Street Football & RugbyThe street football & rugby is free, and all you have to do is turn up and play!

Football Development Summer Programme2012

The Football Dept will be hosting a range of different courses, which are detailed below.

SFA Mini Kickers – The mini kickers course is aimed at the 3 – 4 age group. The aimof the activity is to promote co-ordination, social and communication skills whilst usingfootball and non football games.

Moray Council Soccer Stars – The soccer stars course is aimed at 5 – 8 year olds.This course gives them a start in football and basic skills through fun drills and games.The aim at this age is to give them a desire to play the game.

Moray Council Skills Centres – The Skills Centre are aimed at 9 – 12 Year olds. Wenow move to the next stage where they should be developing the basic skills and movesrequired in the game. The aim at this age is to learn to play.

Moray Council Development Centres – is aimed at the secondary aged playerwho may or may not be involved with a club and looking for that extra few sessions oftraining.

Moray Council Holiday Programme – The holiday programme will give children achance to develop their individual football skills through passing, dribbling, control andsmall sided games.

Street Football Activity – The holiday programme street football/rugby is run inpartnership with Elgin City Community Department. The street football/rugby is freeand all you have to do is turn up and play.

Earthtime is a not for profit organisation providing fun, creative and educationalactivities for children and adults to inspire and generate enthusiasm for theenvironment and the outdoors!This summer, we will be dedicating a whole week to Summer Holiday Fun in theWestlodge, Earthtime’s base at Cooper Park, Elgin from Monday 9th – Friday 13thJuly at 10:00am – 12:00pm for 2 – 4 year olds (£4.00 per child & must beaccompanied by an adult) and 1:00pm – 3:00pm for 5 – 8 year olds (£6:00) perchild. Activities include making your very own treasure box to take home for all yourEarthtime goodies, bug hunting, design and make your own bug, camouflage games,scavenger hunts, nature/environmental themed games, design your own tree goblin,lots of crafts and even a few mud pies! Each session will see the children making atleast one natural craft to take home and include a drink and a biscuit. Earthtimeactivities will go ahead come rain or shine! ARTS DEVELOPMENT

The Dubstep Olympics! Summer Camp for12 – 16 year olds: with Dave Martin and SteveGasgarth of Electrolab

Over 3 sessions we will create an original Dubsteptheme for the London 2012 games with VisualProjections! We will use the industry standard LogicPro DAW software on Apple Macs to explore SoundDesign, Track Construction, Software Instruments,Recording Live Audio, MIDI Controllers, Song Construction and Audio Effects. We willalso be taking field recordings of improvised sounds to incorporate into the track togive it a true sports Olympic feel! Alongside the sounds we will take photos of ourprocess, audio representations and project them using R-Kaos. All through the projectwe will be learning vital skills while creating exciting contemporary sounds and visuals.

The magical Flea Circus Chariot Race – learn some of the secrets of the traditional FleaCircus, including how to train a “Human Flea”, using the technique of mono printingproduce work inspired by ancient Greek black and red figure pottery, and make yourown Greek vase, and create a city from cardboard. Sporting activities will include aunique orienteering event, Victorian Games and a range of activities that celebrateMasters and Champions. Come visit the Keith and Dufftown RailwayThe new season for the Keith and DufftownHeritage Railway began on Friday 6th April 2012and trains will operate every Saturday and Sundayuntil the end of September, and additionally in June, July and August they will run on aFriday as well.Visit the most northerly heritage railway in Scotland and feast your eyes on some of themost picturesque scenery as you travel form Dufftown, the Malt Whisky Capital of theWorld to the halt at Drummuir in the shadow of Drummuir castle and then on to Keith.The trip is a railway photographer and whisky enthusiasts’ dream come true and thosewith keen sight may see a variety of wildlife including deer, foxes, pine martens, wildfowl, birds of prey and other creatures.
