St. Charles North High SchoolAs you are making your summer plans, remember to include MUSIC! The summer is an excellent time to continue playing your instrument, sing, develop new skills and make new friends! In fact, students who perform music over the summer are more likely to be successful in the fall.

6th Grade Concert Band - 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. “Summer Fun!” The summer concert band plays fun music that is just challenging enough to prepare you for middle school, but easy enough to play and perform by the end of camp. This band is open to students who have finished their first year in band and are headed to 6th grade in the fall. There will be a large group rehearsal and a small group sectional each day. You will perform for family and friends on the last day of camp.

6th Grade Jazz Band - 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. “Basically the Blues” Interested in playing in jazz band in middle school? Want to play the blues, swing and rock music? This camp is open to students who are entering 6th grade in the upcoming school year and play ANY band instrument, piano, string bass or guitar. Students will perform for family and friends on the last day of camp.

5th & 6th Grade Concert Choir - 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. "Summer Choir" is for beginner singers interested in preparing for singing harmony and learning the performance skills of middle school choir.  This camp is open to all incoming 5th and 6th graders!  There will be a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.

7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Concert Band - 10:30 a.m - Noon “One of Each” This band will perform one of each of the main ingredients of a great concert—a march, an overture and a pop tune. This camp is for middle school band students who are entering the 7th, 8th and 9th grades in the fall. Students will have a large group rehearsal and a small group sectional each day. You will perform a concert for family and friends on the last day of camp.

7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Jazz Band Noon - 1 p.m. “More Cowbell!” This jazz group continues with Swing, Rock, and Blues, but adds Latin music! This camp is open to students entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade who play a jazz instrument. Jazz instruments include saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium/baritone, tuba, piano, drums, bass and guitar. There will be a performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.

7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Concert Choir Noon – 1:30 p.m. "Broadway Review" is for intermediate singers who have been involved in their school choir who want to perform fun music from the Broadway stage.  We will work on multiple-part music, solos and some staging to present at our final performance for family and friends on the last day of camp!

Students should enter through door #11, just to the right of the auditorium entrance.

Refund Policy • There is a $25.00 processing fee for refunds and no refunds will be given after the second

day of camp.

• However, a full refund will be issued if class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment or there is a documented illness or injury. There are no partial refunds or credits for absences.
