Week 1 (June 3-7) 9 am to 12 pm: Abstract Art (Stephanie Rittner)- Join us in a study of abstract art. You will be inspired by artists like Mondrian, Hundertwasser, Pollock, Rex Ray, and Delaunay. Different mediums will be used so you can create your own abstract masterpieces. 9 am to 12 pm: Everything Duct Tape (Eben Bold)- In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of how to work with duct tape and receive instruction on how to make a variety of duct tape crafts. Such crafts will include wallets, flowers, animals, and sushi. 1 pm to 4 pm: Anime Afternoons (Karen Trythall)- This class is for fans of Anime who enjoy drawing in this style and who enjoy Miyazaki’s animations. Students will learn fundamentals for drawing anime faces, bodies, and animals. Emphasis will be on pencil, but colored pencil and pens will also be available. 1 pm to 4 pm: Collage Creations (Jacob Spill)- Lots of playing with scissors and glue as well as some collage drawings.

Week 2 (June 10-14) 9 am to 12 pm: The Elements of Art (Stephanie Rittner)- Let’s take a look at art from around the world to better understand the elements of art. We will be inspired by many cultures to draw, paint, collage and more. 9 am to 12 pm: Bead It! (Britton Donharl)- Just what can you make with beads? Explore making your own beads with clay and paper, stringing beads, and using beads in unique ways. We will make jewelry, art, and a dream catcher, among other projects. 1 pm to 4 pm: The Broformers Junior Circus (Eben Bold)- The Broformers are here to teach the next generation of young circus performers! This is a wonderful class if you want to learn juggling, balance, and other mesmerizing acts! Boys and girls, step right up and learn how to be an honorary Junior Juggler! 1 pm to 4 pm: Paper Decorations and All Things Origami (Karen Trythall)- We will make non-toxic marbled papers, stamped papers, dyed papers, and random abstract papers. We will use some of these papers for our origami. We will use and invent memorized stories to learn the steps for origami forms.

Week 3 (June 17-21) 9 am to 12 pm: Summer is Beautiful (Britton Donharl)- Summer is such a beautiful season! We will explore the beauty with painting and drawing, both in abstract and naturalistic ways. Be prepared to spend some time each day creating art outdoors. 9 am to 12 pm: Pizza Box Monsters (Daisy Gorman-Nichols)- Students will create a monster (felt, furry fabric, yarn, etc.) inside a pizza box. The monster will be attached to the top of the box so that it will pop up when the box is opened. Students will design their “monster” and create a logo for the box cover. 1 pm to 4 pm: Renaissance Fair and Medieval Art (Ellen Mancini)- Explore the magic of the Renaissance Fair and learn about Medieval Art. Using a variety of materials, draw, paint and craft projects such as castles, puppets, fairies, unicorns, tissue paper stained glass and more. For those who like to dress up, this class will include a dress-up day. 1 pm to 4 pm: All About Owls! 1 pm to 4 pm: All About Owls! (Susanne Harrison)- Create a fun papier mâché owl. We’ll do owl drawings, owl paintings, Zentagle owls, and scratch a colorful owl into oil pastels.

Week 4 (June 24-28) 9 am to 12 pm: STEAM- Let’s Build and Add Creativity! (Lhasa Lea)- Students will create different STEAM projects using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! We will add creativity as an extra ingredient. 9 am to 12 pm: Trash to Treasure (Delores Daniels)- Turn ordinary household items like shoe boxes, mayo jars and paper towel rollers into jewelry boxes, rocket launchers, dolls or anything else your imagination can dream up! 1 pm to 4 pm: All Things Zen 1 pm to 4 pm: All Things Zen (Heather Beemer)- Bring your yoga mats and an open mind. We’ll be making wind chimes, mandalas, Zentangles, a large “Tree of Life,” and painting rocks/candles. 1 pm to 4 pm: Pop Art! (Jane McConnell)- Explore and discover famous, weird, and wacky pop art techniques from the greats, then create your own!

Week 5 (July 1- July 3) 9 am to 12 pm: Face Paint and Tattoos (Jacob Spill)- We will be painting each other’s faces and making daring tattoos on each other’s arms with a non-toxic, non-permanent marker. Please make sure your child isn’t allergic to face paint. 1 pm to 4 pm: Solar Space Castles and Other Adventures in the Eco-Space Zone (Deborah Brink)- If you were on another planet, how and where would you live? Build a “Solar Space Castle” using a variety of recycled materials, and illuminated by solar power.

Week 6 (July 8-12) 9 am to 12 pm: Tiles and Mosaics (Deborah Brink)- 9 am to 12 pm: Tiles and Mosaics (Deborah Brink)- Create a fun mosaic tile as well as embossed and hand-painted clay tiles. 9 am to 12 pm: Leaf if to Me (Laura Parkinson)- Learn all about plants, trees, and flowers; explore and collect specimens, and make some great art! We’ll experiment with painting, printing, drawing, and sculpting all sorts of local and exotic plants. 1 pm to 4 pm: Star Wars Creations (Jacob Spill)- Enjoy a class of fun art projects for all the young Jedi and Sith. We will be building lightsabers as well as constructing other crafts from a galaxy far, far away. 1 pm to 4 pm: Acting Out (Jazmine Torres)- Students will learn performance skills through improvisational games, scene work exercises, and movement activities. Students will have the opportunity to perform lip sync at the end of the week.

Week 7 (July 15-19) 9 am to 12 pm: Be Your Own Hero (Jacob Spill)- Don’t wait around for Superman to save the day. You’re going to make your own comic! This class is for the hero in all of us. We’ll be doing comic illustration as well as fun superhero themed crafts. 9 am to 12 pm: How to Plan, Plot, and Publish a Novel (David Daniel)- 9 am to 12 pm: How to Plan, Plot, and Publish a Novel (David Daniel)- Calling all young authors! Take the craft of writing to the next level for young, creative minds. Work to learn the basics of how to grow a story from an idea to a fully planned book. Students will work together to critique and revise their work, and to discover the things that make their own story ideas unique. 1 pm to 4 pm: Zoinks! It’s Zombies (Jacob Spill)- 1 pm to 4 pm: Zoinks! It’s Zombies (Jacob Spill)- Don’t fear the walking dead, JOIN ‘EM! This class explores the lighter side of zombies. We’ll be doing zombie themed crafts as well as completing a short film about the misunderstood zombies. Don’t worry parents, no gun crafts allowed in this class. Think more “Plants vs. Zombies.” 1 pm to 4 pm: Intro to Magic the Gathering and Pokemon 1 pm to 4 pm: Intro to Magic the Gathering and Pokemon Trading Card Games (David Daniel)- LET’S DUEL! Learn the rules and strategies to take your game to the next level. Explore the artistic origins of many of the most popular cards and monsters from the games. Design and draw custom cards to play YOUR way. Bring your decks or use decks provided by the instructor.

Week 8 (July 22-26) 9 am to 12 pm: Movie Making Magic (Jacob Spill)- 9 am to 12 pm: Movie Making Magic (Jacob Spill)- Wouldn’t you just love to star in a movie created by you and your classmates? Well, prepare yourself for a week of lights, camera, action! We will be creating movie props, set design, and of course, acting. At the end of the week, we will have completed a short film ready for you, your family, and friends to enjoy. (Note to parents, mild violence and use of prop weapons will be used in the movie. We will be making a Sci-Fi B-Movie)9 am to 12 pm: Let’s 9 am to 12 pm: Let’s Travel to Europe (Shelly Doyle)- In this class, we will be exploring the wonders of several places in Europe. We will travel to London, Paris, the Swiss Alps, Florence, and Rome! We will do projects inspired by these places! Join me and let’s explore the world together!1 pm to 4 pm: The Spirit of Hawaii (Ellen Mancini)- Embark on a journey to the mystical Hawaiian Islands. Discover the magic of sea turtles, palm trees, pineapples, and exotic fish. Make Hawaiian leis and Tiki masks. Campers will create a volcano as a group project.1 pm to 4 pm: Paper Crafts (Deborah Brink)- 1 pm to 4 pm: Paper Crafts (Deborah Brink)- Papermaking, paper casting, paper marbleizing, collage, paper airplanes, origami, book-making, pop-up cards- So many things to do with paper!

Week 9 (July 29-August 2) 9 am to 12 pm: Wizards, Dragons, and Ghouls (Jacob Spill)- Join us as we make arts and crafts straight from Middle Earth, Narnia, and Hogwarts! 9 am to 12 pm: Wearable Art (Delores Daniels)- Paint t-shirts, cut and decorate jeans, make jewelry, decorate hats and embellish anything you can wear or use as an accessory. Express your style! 1 pm to 4 pm: Funky Bugs! (Susanne Harrison)- 1 pm to 4 pm: Funky Bugs! (Susanne Harrison)- Papier mâché critters. Creepy crawly fun with pencils, paint, hot glue, pastels, and even shaving cream. 1 pm to 4 pm: Dungeons and Dragons for Beginners (David Daniel): New and experienced adventurers are welcome to join a week-long adventure into a fantastic world of swords and sorcery, mist, monsters, dungeons and DRAGONS! Students will create and play the iconic game Dungeons and Dragons, make unforgettable characters, construct thrilling Adventurers, and maybe even slay a dragon.
