Summer 2020
Schedule of Classes
Enrollment
Begins
February 10th
Students must
meet with their
advisor prior to
registering.
If you are currently a student at another university you may take a summer class through the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford as a visiting student. Contact Admissions at 1-800- 872-1787 or [email protected].
BILLING
Students are charged a per credit tuition rate over the summer. In addition to tuition, students are charged a Computer Networking Fee of $100 if registered in less than 12 credits & $175 if over 12 credits. Other course specific fees may apply. This includes Internships.
The University of Pittsburgh does not mail paper bills. Once you have registered for classes, charges are created for the term. An e-mail notification is sent to your Pitt e-mail account directing you to view your account and due date in PittPAY.
Go to www.payments.pitt.edu and log on using the username and password assigned to you by the University.
You will land on the Account Summary tab. Here you will be able to see any balance due, and for which term(s), and the payment due date.
Your payment will be due in full by the posted due date unless you are enrolled in a payment plan (see Payment Plan tab in PittPAY). Credit card and echeck payments are accepted
online in PittPAY. Payments by echeck are offered at no charge to you but if you pay by credit or debit card, (Visa, Discover or MasterCard) a non-refundable convenience fee of 2.75%
per transaction is charged by our vendor. Enrollment Services accepts cash or check payments. For more detailed information regarding student accounts, please visit
payments.pitt.edu.
SESSIONS
We strongly encourage students to register for all summer courses they plan to take as soon as possible. Course enrollment is evaluated just prior to the start of each session. A course
may be cancelled if less than seven students are enrolled. Adding and Dropping a summer course does change your credit load and charges. When you withdraw from a course you
are still charged for the course.

Academic Internships at Pitt-Bradford
An academic internship is a carefully planned and monitored work
experience that meets specific learning goals related to an academic field of study. There should be a relationship between the practical
experience gained in an internship and the academic work done in the classroom.
Internships allow students to acquire hands-on, practical experience and develop key competencies and critical skills in their
chosen field of study.
Undergraduate students at Pitt-Bradford can earn between one and six credits for internships. No more than 6 credits of internship may be taken at any one time. A minimum of 45 on-site hours must be completed per
credit hour earned.
Some students elect to participate in an internship experience and not receive academic credit.
Approval of an academic internship application is contingent upon satisfaction of the following requirements:
Junior standing
Good academic standing and meeting the requirements of the major
Completion of the Academic Internship Learning Agreement
Approval of the faculty intern supervisor, the student's academic advisor,
the division chair and the vice president and dean of academic affairs.
Students interested in registering for internship
credits for Summer Term of 2020 should contact their
academic advisor
Undergraduate RESEARCH Opportunities!
All students in their sophomore year or beyond are
encouraged to consider doing directed research in their major. Such courses prove valuable for
pursuing special research interests, preparing for
the job market and enhancing one’s competitiveness for graduate school.
Funding is available to help underwrite the costs
associated with undergraduate research, including conference travel.
A Summer Undergraduate Research Assistant
program is also available, which includes on-campus housing and a stipend.
For more information, contact Dr. Warren Fass, Director of Undergraduate Research, at 362-7577 ([email protected]);
the Office of Academic Affairs; or any member of the faculty.
