camp rimon katan AGES 2 THROUGH ENTERING PRE-K

A Day in the Life of a Katan Camper: Each week at Camp Rimon Katan is filled with music, art, sports, sensory play, scientific discovery, cooking, stories, friendship and so much more all with a fun theme! Your child will be engaged in developmentally appropriate activities in our NAEYC accredited program and well cared for by our experienced staff!

Water/Swimming: Our Pre-K campers will go off-site to Escalante Pool in Tempe twice a week on Mondays & Fridays for free swim with trained lifeguards and our staff. Escalante is open only for our JCC campers at these times. The 3s groups will have water play at a local area splashpad. The 2s will have water play at the JCC twice a week.

Field Trips: All three and four year olds will have 3 field trips over the summer.

Pre-K: Our Pre-K campers have a full day of fun. Each Thursday, they will also have an extra field trip to the Chandler library and other locations for a fun, educational experience.

CAMP PROGRAMMING

SWIMMINGAll Rimon Gadol campers go swimming twice a week to off-site pools. Campers have free swim supervised by lifeguards and Camp Rimon staff. K-2 swim at Escalante Pool. Escalante Pool is open only for our JCC campers at these times. Grade 3 and up swim at Hamilton Pool. For Rimon Katan, see page 3.

FIELD TRIPSDepending on the age group, all Rimon Gadol campers will go on 1-2 field trips a week to exciting locations throughout the Valley! In past summers, our most popular field trips have included the Arizona Science Center, OdySea and a D-Backs game, and we look forward to new adventures at the Crayola Experience, Bowlero, LegoLand and KTR!

SHABBATEvery Friday, we end the week together as a camp community as we celebrate Shabbat with song, dance, challah baking and more! In addition, we will wrap up the week with group performances and presentations.

ISRAELI CULTUREAn exciting part of the Camp Rimon program is how we infuse Israeli and Jewish culture into our programming. Campers will learn more about Israeli life, traditions, customs, food, its people, geography and so much more! For example, we will experience breakfast on a “kibbutz.”

CAMP HIGHLIGHTS

CAMP RIMON ELECTIVESArt. Cooking. Sports. Singing. Dancing. Role-Playing Games. Building, Robotics, Coding, and S.T.E.A.M. Choices, choices, choices! Every week, campers will select one activity during the week. Campers can try something new or do something they already love.

THE ROCK SHOWA longtime tradition, each age group shows off their talents and performs their song and dance and in front of their families and friends! Join us as we end the summer in style with music, fun and a great show! More details to come during camp!

Rimon Katan: July 23 Rimon Gadol: July 7

MACCABIA WEEKColor War, or as we call it at Camp Rimon, Maccabia. Campers will be split into teams as they compete in a variety of exciting contests as they show off their ruach (spirit), sportsmanship and talents during an unforgettable week!

Week of June 22

OVERNIGHT LOCK-INSOur lock-ins are overnight sleepovers at the J, with fun, themed activities and a late night movie. Each lock-in costs $25/camper and include dinner and breakfast. Drop the kids off at 6:00 pm and they stay for the next day at camp.

E-SPORTSThe new phenomenon that is changing the video game world comes to Camp Rimon. Campers will get the opportunity to show off their gaming skills in a variety of sports, action and adventure games against their friends!

TRAVELWITH THE J

L.I.T. PROGRAM

TEENS. LEADERSHIP. FUN. VOLUNTEER. TRAINING.$250/child for the whole summer.

There is an interview process to be accepted into the L.I.T. program.Contact Sam Schuman at sam@evjcc.org for more registration information.

For campers entering 10th - 12th grades, our L.I.T.s serve as leaders in our camp community and have opportunities to earn volunteer hours for school both in and outside the J.

Our L.I.T.s are trained in how to work with our younger campers, will lead & create camp programming, can earn CPR & First Aid certification* and participate in community service projects in the valley.

FOR 6TH - 9TH GRADE CAMPERSAlways a summer favorite for our oldest campers, we will be heading to the Long Beach, CA JCC. Our campers will integrate with theirs and enjoy many activities that may include: Knott’s Berry Farm, swimming, team bonding, beaches and more!

week for every week your friend enrolls. Money will be issued as a refund at the end of camp in

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATIONCamp scholarships are available for families in need. The deadline for applications is March 13, 2020 at 5pm; apply early as funds are limited. Financial aid decisions will be made by April 22. Scholarship applications must be complete to be reviewed on a first come first served basis.
