Refund PolicyFor occupational classes that meet four times or less, a 75 percent refund shall be made on the first day of the class. For classes that meet five or more times, a 75 percent refund shall be made if the student officially withdraws from the class prior to or on the official 10 percent point of the class. No refunds are offered for community service courses or workshops.

Please Note: All books are an estimated cost. Price changes are possible.

Basic SkillsAdult Basic Education (ABE)ABE classes are offered at the Station Club, located in Morehead City. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently offering ABE coursesonline during the summer semester. These ABE classes are designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The focus of the program is to help each student become as independent as possible through improving each students’ reading, writing, speaking, problem solving, and computation skills. Please contact Pam Brecheisen at 252-222-6212 for information.

Adult High School (AHS) The summer semester for AHS begins Monday, May 18, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently offering AHS courses online during the summer semester. The AHS program follows the N.C. Standard Course of Study which defines the appropriate content standards for each high school course in order to provide a uniform set of learning standards. There are unique requirements for minor students (16 or 17 years old). Please call the Basic Skills office at 252-222-6195 for information.

High School Equivalency (HSE) (previously GED©)HSE is a multi-entry program whereby students are able to enroll throughout the semester. There are four (4) subject areas: mathematics; language arts; science; and social studies. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently offering HSE courses online during thesummer semester. There are unique requirements for minor students (16 or 17 years old). Please contact the Basic Skills office at 252-222-6195 for enrollment information.

English Language Acquisition (ELA) (previously ESL) ELA is a multi-entry program where students are able to enroll throughout the semester. The ELA program is for students who are foreign born, 18 years of age or older and English is not their first language. These classes help students learn to communicate in English. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently offering ELA courses online during the summer semester. Please contact Pam Brecheisen at 252-222-6212 forinformation.
