Fourth-graders at Elm Street School brought history to life as part of

their Growth Mindset research projects by hosting a Living Wax Museum this spring. Students were assigned a histori-cal figure who had a growth mindset throughout his or her life and then used the online library database, as well as informational texts from the library, to research their assigned person. Students then created PowerPoint presentations and wrote research articles about their assigned person before taking on the role of their individual to participate in the living wax museum. “The students did an excellent job remaining in character and presenting their speeches to other students, teach-ers, parents and members of the com-munity who attended the event,” said Teacher Kaitlin MacWhinnie.
