AUDITION INFORMATION Summer Dance Intensive participation is by audition only. Auditions include a full ballet class with a pointe portion and is open to intermediate, advanced, and pre-professional students ages 11-21. Following the ballet class, students will have the option to show a prepared jazz, modern, tap, or musical theatre center combination of at least 64 counts or 16 bars. REQUIREMENTS n No audition fee n DVD or digital auditions permitted n Returning students are not required to re-audition, unless applying for a talent- based scholarship n More details are available at mnconservatoryforthearts.org SCHOLARSHIPS Talent-based scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis. MCA will notify scholarship recipients at the time of acceptance. Dancers may also audition for renewable scholarships to study at Saint Mary’s University of MN starting in Fall 2018. PERFORMANCE Each dancer participates in the final day showcase in the beautiful 450-seat Page Theatre. The performance includes repertory choreographed by our guest artists and faculty, in addition to demonstrations in ballet, pointe variations, jazz, modern and musical theatre dance, among others. HOUSING Resident students will stay at the Alverna Center which features 24-hour security, a kitchenette with microwave and fridge, catered meal service, free laundry machines, dorm rooms with private baths, and a solarium for group activities. Alverna Center is conveniently located next door to the Valéncia Arts Center (VAC) where classes are held. An adult chaperone resides on-site with the students. THREE-WEEK TUITION AND FEES Tuition Only: $1,230 Room and Board: $1,199 Returning students are invited back at a 25% discounted rate.
