You'll receive a rodand reel for one day (bait not provided).

Level 6 Purpose: Refines all six strokes so students swim with ease, efficiency, power andFitness Swimmer smoothness. Skills Taught: Swim 500 yard continuously using the following strokes: 100 yards front crawl, 100 yards back crawl, 50 yards breaststroke, 50 yards elementary backstroke, 50 yards sidestroke, 50 yards butterfly, and 100 yards your choice of stroke Perform the Cooper 12-minute swim test and compare with pre-assessment results.

Diving Purpose: Introduces and practice fundamental springboard diving. Skills Taught: front

Fall Baseball Leagues at Harvester ParkLeague play (8 games plus playoffs) conducted in a fun, educational atmosphere, while maintaining competitive participationin baseball. Taekwondo – Summer SessionsTae Kwon Do, one of the newest Olympic sports, is a 2000-year-old martial art, offering a variety of benefits for people of allages and physical abilities. Students have the opportunity to improve concentration and self esteem, achieve lifelong physicalfitness, and learn self-defense skills. Classes are under the direction of Grand Master Ki Hong Kim* (8th Dan World TaeKwon Do Federation.) A $45.00 uniform fee is required at the first class. Burr Ridge Park District announces the opening of 2013 BRFL registration. All divisions offer all participants the chance toplay football in a safe and fun atmosphere. All players will receive a team jersey, a flag belt, mid-season giveaway raffles,and the awards show at the end of the season. Instruction will be provided for skills, rules, and good sportsmanship. Gamesand practices will be held at Harvester Park. Palisades Park serves as the back-up location for make-up dates.

LEAGUES

Hawk: Ages 7-8 Code: FB1-3There will be 4-6 teams in this division. The Hawk Division is the newest ad-dition to the BRFL. The Hawk Division develops basic skills and fundamentalsand basic game strategy. Players are divided into 4 teams after preseason prac-tice and 2 scrimmage games. Coaching staff plays the quarterback position.

Falcon: Ages 9-11 Code: FB1-1There will be 6-8 teams in this division. Players rotate at all positions, accord-ing to league rules throughout each game. Players may tryout for quarterbackwith 2 players per team selected as quarterback. Quarterbacks will have extrapractices assigned for skill development.

Eagle: Ages 12-14 Code: FB1-2There will be a limit of 4-6 teams in this division. The goal of the Eagle Divisionis to challenge the ability of all players in a more competitive environment whilemaintaining all the fun which has made the BRFL popular. The Eagle Divisionfeatures longer games, offensive backfield motion and blitzing. Eight playerscaptains will be selected by the coaching staff. Under the supervision of theleague, the captains will draft teams.

GENERAL INFORMATION

All players will practice together for the first three days and then be split intoteams for scrimmage sessions on the fourth and fifth days of practice. Onceteams are finalized, an 8-10 game regular season schedule for each divisionwill be played. The season will complete with a single elimination tournamentculminating in the annual Bowl-Cup Championship Series (the BCCS). The10th Annual All-Star Game, and Skills Competition will be held midwaythrough the season. Park Staff will coach and officiate games. Game timeswill vary according to day. All teams will have one practice during the week.BR, WB No Games or Practices on 8/31 & 9/2.

Park Development NewsHarvester Park Playground RenovationsAs of this writing, just a couple of final improvements which are weather dependent

remain to be completed. We are anticipating that construction fences will be re-

moved and the playground re-opened by May 1. The wait will be worth it as the new

custom play elements are “begging” to be played on. The splash pad elements of the

renovation will open at the special event scheduled for May 30th (see page 2). After

the opening, the splash pad will be available for public usage during regular park hours

until September 2, 2013.

Burr Ridge Community Center AdditionConstruction was completed and occupancy obtained in February, 2013. Two new programming rooms, a new storage

area, and renovated small program room have been fully operational since that time. All residents are invited to stop by

and tour this beautiful addition to our community center.

Medical situations may be granted as an exception to thispolicy. If at any point in time you are unable to continuein a program due to a medical situation, you will receivea prorated refund if you follow the above steps and in-clude a doctor's note identifying the medical condition andthe date the condition occurred.

Due to the nature of the program, certain activities may beexempt from this refund policy. Such exemptions are notedin that particular program's description by the symbol.

Participants who withdraw from a trip may receive a re-fund or a partial refund. This determination will be madebased upon the unique arrangements for that particulartrip. Available Park Sites – AmenitiesHarvester Park 3 lighted ballfields, 1st class playground, soccer field, bas-ketball court, and volleyball court, two tennis courts, pic-nic shelter, permanent restrooms, off street parking, and17 acres of wetlands.

Outdoor Shelter Rentals The Park District has three picnic shelters available forcommunity rental – Harvester Park Main Shelter, Har-vester Park Wetland Shelter and Oak Grove Park. Groupcapacity for Harvester Main is 100, capacity for HarvesterWetland and Oak Grove Park is 50. Harvester Main isavailable beginning August 1, Harvester Wetlands andOak Grove Park are available beginning May 15. Contactthe Park District for complete rules, regulations, andusage applications. All group gatherings of greater than25 people require a permit.
