From the DirectorDear Faculty, Friends, Students, and Members,

As you may know, we are planning an excitingrenovation of portions of the Art Center in order tocreate a more engaging, welcoming, and comfortablecreative space for our community. I want to thank themany people who have already given generously tomake this possible, and encourage everyone else tojoin in this transformative moment for the Art Center by donating today.

Our last renovation project in 1999 included a new gallery and sculpturestudio. We are now focusing our attention to other areas. Highlights includecreating new painting and jewelry studios, making the front door to thegalleries our new main entrance, bringing natural light into the ceramicsstudio, and developing a digital media program. As with all projects of thisscale and scope, the processes of fundraising and construction can beunpredictable. We ask for your understanding about the unavoidableadjustments that may affect our building plans and schedule. Constructionwill begin on June 4, and is expected to be complete in late October of2013. While our building is closed for renovations beginning on May 24,we will be providing the high quality offerings you know and love as well asnew programs offsite throughout the community.

We very much appreciate your interest and involvement in thistransformative moment as we create the best possible environment for teaching, learning, and creating. We hope that we can count on yoursupport to make it a reality. To date, we have raised over $1.2 milliontowards an overall project budget of close to $2 million, through grants and generous donations from community members like you. Morethan 16,000 individuals, ages two to seniorcitizens, participated in our programs last year—either as artists, students, or enthusiastic viewers.

We willconclude with each participant sharinghis/her stop motion short film with the groupand creating an online library of films usingYouTube.

Summer Teaching Artist Apprenticeships(TAA) For High School and CollegeStudentsCalling all aspiring art and communityeducators! Apprenticeships are perfect forhigh school or college students to gainworking knowledge and develop theirportfolios and resume. TAAs will assistprofessional teaching artists in theclassroom and develop their own portfolio of lesson plans and projects while serving as mentors to aspiring child artists. Payment OptionsWe accept cash, checks, and all major creditcards. Enrollment is accepted after FULLtuition is received. Read course descriptionscarefully for dates, times, and requiredsupplies. The Art Center only sendsconfirmation if we have a valid email addressfor the registrant. The Art Center may declinean individual’s request to enroll in classes orparticipate in programs when necessary.

Online Registration PolicyAfter registering online, you will receive anemail confirmation from the Art Center. Pleasekeep this receipt for your records. If you do notreceive an email confirmation, your registrationis not complete – please call the Art Center assoon as possible to ensure you are properlyregistered. The Art Center cannot reserve astudent’s space in class if online registration isnot completed successfully.

Supply ListsIt is the student’s responsibility to downloadsupply lists from the Art Center’s website (ifapplicable) or request a copy at the front desk.

Early Registration DiscountStudents registering through June 3 willreceive a discount of $10 off their totalregistration fee (not valid for Summer ArtCamp). Only one early registration discountcan be used per household, per semester.

Additional Class DiscountStudents who register for more than one class(of 4 weeks or more) will receive $10 off ofeach additional class thereafter. Students whoregister for more than one workshop (of 3weeks or less) will receive $5 off eachadditional workshop thereafter. Offer onlyapplies when registering for multiple programsin the same transaction. Discount notapplicable for Family Workshops or Camps. Asnoted larger discounts are sometimes given forspecific class combinations, in which casestudents will only receive the greater discount.

New Student DiscountNew to the Art Center? Mention this when youcall to register or write NEWBIE on yourregistration form for $10 off your firstregistration. Not applicable to Memberships,trips, lectures, Family Workshops or Camps,and cannot be given online. We reserve theright to deny or change discounts if usedinappropriately.

Class Cancellations and Make-upsThe Art Center reserves the right to cancelclasses due to insufficient enrollment or incase of a catastrophe. If we cancel a class,students will be notified and full tuition and willbe refunded. Cancellations are normally made5 days prior to start of class or workshop.Refunds and make-ups will not be given forstudent absences due to personal scheduleconflicts. The Art Center reserves the right tohire a substitute teacher when necessary.

Withdrawal/Refund PolicyMemberships are nonrefundable. Trip depositsare nonrefundable unless the Art Centercancels the trip.

Student PropertyThe Art Center is not responsible for artworkand other property left on the premises andhas no liability of such property is lost, stolenor damaged, except in instances when artworkis displayed in gallery exhibitions and covered

by insurance. Artwork or property left twoweeks after the semester ends will bediscarded.

Emergency FormsEvery child under the age of 18 is required tohave a current Child Emergency Form on filewith the office. Adult students are required toinform the office if they have a medicalcondition that the staff or faculty should beaware of in an emergency.
