The Vice Chancellor gave consent letter for affiliation of Shivaji University to this incubation centre. The centre will help mentoring and guiding students about quality research and how to proceed with it at the international level. The Centre's department of Science and Technology (DST) has allotted a grant of Rs 5.40 crore for the project. The TBI centre will be useful in mentoring business planning, providing technical assistance, and other required help. The incubator will also provide upcoming businesses with space for services and training. Since it has been authorized by the university, it holds more weight and is the reason for people to contact the centre and take a look. SUK Vice-chancellor Dr. Devanand Shinde, during the inauguration ceremony said that the technology business incubator should be looked upon as an opportunity to develop and work with creativity. "Though the TBI centre's focus will be mentoring students, it will also be used for research and developing new services to enhance existing knowledge and technology. The centre, which has been started in the rural area, is the first one of its kind in the country and SUK as well. It will achieve new heights of success," he said. He added that true grit, an interest in research and latest technology, new skill-oriented initiatives and the institute's presence will play an important role in making this centre a success. Dr. Shinde also appealed to students, businessmen and new start-ups to take advantage of the facilities provided at the centre. According to him, those studying at the centre will also get a certificate from the University. He added that DKTE should also take the initiative of introducing silk material. DKTE chairman Kallappanna Awade said that the institute is committed to excellence from its inception. DKTE's Textile and Engineering institute had also received an award. With the availability of the latest equipment and technology, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICITE) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) had recently awarded DKTE's Textile and Engineering institute the Best Industry-linked engineering institute 2015.
