WELCOME

On behalf of the City of St. Catharines and SMG Canada, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural season of the Meridian Centre; your new home for entertainment in the heart of Niagara. SMG is proud to be the exclusive food and beverage provider for the Meridian Centre and we are thrilled to be providing Suite Hospitality for all events in your new spectator facility.

Our services encompass full service catering for all luxury suite holders, special event catering, show and artist hospitality, sporting and entertainment food services, premium seating services and concessionaries. We will impress you with our trend setting menu, guest service expertise and local culinary samplings, while developing close relationships for many seasons to come.

Executive Chef, Drew Hall, will showcase his new culinary items, featuring a selection of regional and local favourites for the 2014/2015 season. The Chef’s table will be busy with creations of authenticity, including homemade sauces, smoked specialties, local food infusions and delectable ‘slow food’ menu offerings. You’ll still find your Favourite and Classic Event Day Fare, but we will tempt your taste buds with our newest creations available on the Advance Ordering Menu.

Our approach to food and beverage services is attentive and collaborative. We hope to have your preferences, suggestions and input as the season progresses, so look for new items and know that we are listening. Please check the ‘Premium Services’ section in the back of the menu where you’ll find all the information you need to make your luxury suite hospitality experience an exceptional one.

SUITE CATERING GUIDELINES

To ensure that you and your guests enjoy each event with exceptional service and outstanding food, please review our Suite Catering Guidelines, which outline our house policies and procedures, and answers the most frequently asked questions regarding your suite hospitality and catering needs.

Being our inaugural season with suite hospitality and services being new to many luxury suite holders, some general service offerings, commitments and overall guidelines will be outlined below. We will offer menu packages and pricing comparable to other midsize OHL and spectator facilities in Ontario. In keeping with these standards, we offer all our menu items in packages. This will include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage in packs of six, and bottle service only for spirits and wines. Glass service wear is not permitted in the suite.

SUITE ADMINISTRATORS AND ADVANCED ORDERING

We have created extensive menu offerings for your planning convenience. Our premium food and beverage team and our executive culinary team, will assist you in coordinating your menus and ensuring your expectations are exceeded. If you have any special dietary requirements, please inform us when you place your advanced order. We ask for ADVANCED ORDERS to achieve the finest in presentation, service, and quality for you and your guests. To ensure accuracy, we encourage you to appoint one member of your organization to place catering orders. This suite administrative individual can work exclusively with our team as your point person to ensure we are meeting your hospitality needs.

ADVANCED ORDERING PROCESS

In certifying the highest level of presentation, service, and quality, we ask that all food and beverage selections

be placed by 2:00 pm, 24 business hours prior to each event. We accept pre-orders by email only. All orders will be confirmed by email upon processing for events. Pre-ordering is a very helpful tool for us leading up to the event and on event nights, as we work diligently to plan and facilitate your evening. Please note, if you choose to not follow our advance ordering timelines, we can accept “event day” orders at premium pricing. Orders can be placed with the assistance of our premium food and beverage representatives, via our ordering and service email address: [email protected], exclusively for ease of record keeping, clarity and detail. We cannot guarantee availability of ANY ADVANCED DAY items placed AFTER deadline.

EVENT DAY ORDERING

If a food order is placed within 24 business hours of the event, the Event Day Menu will be in effect for ordering. Until noon (12 pm) on the day of the event, we will accept email orders. After noon (12 pm) on event days, our suite servers will take your orders direct or you may call our suite pantry at extension 6328. Our “Day of Event Menu” is priced at a premium and is located in your suite for event day ordering. Also in your suite on event day is a current wine list, beverage selections, and our Chef’s specials.

STANDING ORDERS

You may also choose to place a standard food and beverage order to be placed for ALL events. Your Premium Food and Beverage Representative will send your order confirmations prior to each event should any adjustments need to be made. This is a convenient option if your schedule tends to interfere with meeting our pre-order deadline requirements. It is the responsibility of the Suite Administrator to contact the premium food and beverage representative 2 business days prior to the event to cancel a standing order request. All standing orders cancelled after the 2-business day deadline will be charged in full for their standing order.

ORDERING DURING THE EVENT

All items listed on the Event Day Menu in the suite are available during the event. A credit card must be provided to the Suite Attendant for payment of all game day catering orders. We strongly encourage you to order at least 2 business days in advance of the event. Event day orders may be placed with the premium food and beverage coordinator via internal suite phones or e-mail 24-hours in advance, or with the suite attendant overseeing your suite the day of the event. Please allow approximately 45 minutes for all game day orders to be delivered to your suite.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE DELIVERY

Delivery of food and beverage items to your suite will be carried out in keeping with the highest food quality and safety standards. Food items ordered that do not require heat or cold stabilization will be placed in your suite prior to guest arrival. All items requiring heat will be delivered once guests have arrived and their attendant has been directed to deliver the hot entrée food. We delay the delivery of all hot food to ensure the highest quality and appropriate temperature for service is maintained. Due to space restrictions, some items may be delivered closer to game and will be replenished and serviced frequently throughout the event to ensure the highest of service expectations.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES

Payment is required at the end of the event and duplicate copies of your bill are available on request. All suite holders will receive a computer generated check at the conclusion of each event unless otherwise noted. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Debit, and a credit card must be provided with your order for it to be processed. For your convenience, a credit card number(s) and list of authorized signer(s) can be placed on file with our business office and used to settle your bill for events. HST of 13% and a coordination fee of 12% will be added to your bill. The Coordination fee is not considered a gratuity. Gratuities are at the suite holder’s discretion and may be added to the guest check based on the quality of service received.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If an event is cancelled for any reason, your order will be void and you will not be charged for your order. We ask that all order cancellations be notified 2 business days prior to an event so your order can be cancelled at no cost to you. If we are notified inside 2 business days, you will be charged the full cost of your order.

OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE

Please note, “OFF LICENCE” alcohol is never allowed in your suite and jeopardizes our liquor licence. If found, this alcohol will be confiscated and service for the

evening may be terminated at management discretion. Further ramifications of off-licence alcohol may include: ejection of patrons from the suite, stationing of a dedicated suite hostess (chargeable to the suite holder) to monitor further alcohol consumption and possible suspension of alcohol service to the offending suite for future events. Underage patrons will not be served and we will ask for ID from all patrons who appear under the age of 30. In keeping with AGCO regulations, patrons who appear intoxicated and underage patrons will not be served alcohol; violation of the regulations may cause patrons to be removed from the suite.

SMG exclusively furnishes all food and beverage products for the suites at the Meridian Centre and guests are prohibited from bringing personal food or beverage without proper authorization. Licenced alcohol must stay within your suite as well as prepared food. Carrying food out of the suite poses great risk to guests, suite holders and employees of the Meridian Centre. Food can become hazardous very quickly and unfinished food must stay in the suite for proper disposal by our culinary service team.

SUITE FRIDGES

Suite fridges at the Meridian Centre will be locked at all times and suite owners and premium service staff ONLY will be permitted entrance. Keys will be issued to Suite Holders or Administrators and will not be opened or managed for any other individual(s) than those noted. Should you need additional keys or permissions for your fridge key and its access, you can contact us directly via email and we will arrange accordingly.

FOOD ALLERGIES & SENSITIVITIES

If you or your guests suffer from a food-based allergy or sensitivity, please contact your premium food and beverage representative, who will consult with our Executive Chef in an effort to meet your needs and ensure that you and your guests have an enjoyable experience. Please keep in mind some of the ingredients used in our offerings originate in facilities where common food allergens may be in use.

SMALLWARES AND SUPPLIES

Suites will be supplied with all of the necessary provisions: cutlery, service wear, napkins and corkscrew. We recommend that supplies be kept in the same location to facilitate replenishment.
