Sugar Grove Church is a special place. This church is 165 years old and continues to make a difference for the cause of Christ locally, domestically, and internationally. It has seen many changes over the years, but it continues to thrive because it is made up of people who passionately and unashamedly love God, love others, and love being on mission to help others Reach Up (worship), Reach In (discipleship), and Reach Out (service).

Our vision is to become a community of believers that reach out to those who are un-churched (never been to church) and de-churched (those who have given up on church). We don’t want to be just another church but want to re-think what church could and should be. We desire to become a church that significantly impacts Elkhart County and beyond. We’re a safe, family-friendly place that desires to help you and your family experience the life-changing story of Jesus.

Sugar Grove Church is one of the most authentic, genuine, and sincere churches you will ever experience. However, you will also see that it is the perfect church for imperfect people. Once you get to know us, you will see that we experience real life and real issues just like everyone else. But you will also see that we fully depend upon a real God who loves us and promised to never leave us.

I want to personally invite you to partner with this community of believers who passionately want to do everything possible to see lives transformed from the amazing grace, mercy, and love of Jesus Christ. WHAT TO EXPECTWe strive to ensure you feel welcome and accepted from the moment you step through the door. Our first impressions team is always ready to answer your questions. We will help get your children checked-in with our Children’s Ministry, help you find a seat in one of our five worship services, and if you like, help you find an Information Center in one of our two lobbies to find out more about getting connected to Sugar Grove Church.

WORSHIP STYLESWe offer two different worship styles at Sugar Grove Church. Our Classic Worship meets at 9:45am Sunday mornings and offers a traditional worship style in our Worship Center. Our Café Worship meets at 5:00pm Saturday evenings and 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00am Sunday mornings, and offers a modern worship style in our Student Center.

Whether you’re new or have been here a while, this is the first step to partnering with us. Come meet our ministry team and discover more about the heart and vision of Sugar Grove Church.

Join us over the course of four weeks to learn the values that make up the culture of Sugar Grove Church. You will also have the opportunity to partner with us through membership.

Come participate in a two-part exploration designed to identify and connect your unique strengths with ministry opportunities.

Train with us for thirteen weeks to develop the tools and support necessary for discipling others.

SG KIDS Children’s Ministry:

AT SUGAR GROVE, CHILDREN ARE A PRIORITY. WE CONSIDER IT AN HONOR TO INVEST IN THE NEXT GENERATION (PROVERBS 22:6). OUR CHILDREN’S MINISTRY IS A SAFE AND FUN ENVIRONMENT FOR KIDS TO GROW IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND OTHERS.

OUR MISSIONWe are passionate about teaching kids to Reach Up in Faith, Reach In through Wisdom, and Reach Out in Friendship.

WHAT TO EXPECTYou will be greeted at the door and directed to kids check-in, where you can register your children into SG Kids.  Filling out basic information, your child will receive a tag listing his/her name and age group along with any allergy information that our ministry team may need to know about.  To ensure your child’s safety, you will receive a tag with a number which corresponds to the tag on your child.  Present this tag at the door when you pick up your child.

BABIES & TODDLERSCaring nursery workers provide a clean and safe environment. Parents can have peace of mind while they attend one of our worship services. Nursery is provided for newborns up to age two.

PRESCHOOL (2–5yrs)We want preschoolers to take a first look at who God is and understand, “God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my forever friend.” Classes are offered during each of our weekend services.

ELEMENTARY (K–5th grade)Before kids leave fifth grade we want them to understand three basic truths:

WISDOM: I need to make the wise choice. FAITH: I can trust God no matter what.FRIENDSHIP: I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Classes are offered during each of our weekend services. Our elementary hour begins with a large group environment then breaks into small groups within the same hour.

September – March 6:30–8:00pm

Awana is a club designed to lead kids into a growing relationship with Jesus through Bible stories, small group interaction, scripture memorization and exciting games.

Students are a big deal to Sugar Grove Church. We desire to raise up a generation of world changers that follow Jesus first and foremost. The Sugar Grove Student Ministry exists to help students take steps forward in their faith journey.

All Middle School and High School students are invited to Crossfire, our weekly, large-group gathering. We have a high energy time of games, fun, worship, God’s Word, and Connect Groups to help

students take next steps in their faith! We believe that relationships are the catalysts to a growing, active faith, and we put a lot of time and energy into Connect leader/student relationships as well as student/student relationships. If you are a student, you need to get to Crossfire!

MEN’S MINISTRYThe Sugar Grove Men’s Ministry challenges men to step up as servant leaders and disciple makers in the home, church, and community. We desire to see men strengthen their relationship with God, transform lives through discipleship, and make an eternal impact by serving our community and world. We offer Bible studies and events to help men live lives of authentic manhood, modeled by Jesus and directed by the Word of God. Our goal is to provide opportunities and support for spiritual growth so they will become the men, husbands, fathers, and servant leaders God desires.

WOMEN’SMINISTRYSugar Grove Church’s Women’s Ministry exists to encourage women to reach up to strengthen her relationship with God, reach in by allowing God to change hearts and deepen relationships with each other, and reach out to encourage relationships with our local and global community. We are passionate about each of these avenues to connect women with God and with others. We anticipate seeing lives transformed, friendships built, and our community served, as we focus with our church family on worshipping God, making disciples who make disciples, and serving God and others.

JOIN A CONNECT GROUP

Everyone who attends Sugar Grove is invited and encouraged to experience a Connect Group. Our small groups are safe environments where followers of Jesus can grow as His disciples and seekers can ask questions. Groups meet during the week in homes throughout Elkhart County, encouraging and supporting one another as they “do life” together and grow in their relationship with God and one another. Groups study the Bible and apply its teachings to daily living. They also reach out to the community through various projects to serve people in need.
