A message from Suffolk’s Netball Development Officer Firstly Happy New Year to you all and I wish you a happy and healthy 2013. 2012 saw much success for sport in the UK, Netball has to be included in this. Netball has shown a 34% increase in participation over the previous four years according to the Active People Survey, this is and astonishing achievement. Within Suffolk, we have run successful ‘Back to Netball’ projects with more to come. Lowestoft hosted a positive Youth Umpire Award; these children will be umpiring at the School Games. Also we have created strong effective links with UCS and Waterlane Leisure Centre (Lowestoft). Four clubs are working hard to establish their CAPS folder to hand in for accreditation, good luck to you all. Here is to another successful year in netball

Workshops

Every league and team in the East Region is invited

raise thousands of pounds for this incredible charity.

All we ask is that for one week this year, like last, we

all pull together to support and cooperate in what will be a fantastic team effort!

What does NetNetNetNet 10101010 for Life for Life for Life for Life involve?

Week beginning 11th February 2013 is Net Net Net Net 10 10 10 10 for Life for Life for Life for Life fortnight and all

matches played during this fortnight will help contribute to the fundraising. Each team pledges to donate 10p per goal scored in their weekly fixture. So for example;

Luton Lollypop Ladies 45 (£4.50) v Dunstable Dinner Ladies 33 (£3.30)

Total pledge from each team = £7.80

Umpires are also encouraged to get involved, by swapping their whites for some pinks, and rounding any donations up to the nearest pound. At the end of the match, a willing volunteer needs to collect up the pledges and donate them online at the England Netball Cancer Research page www.myprojects.cancerresearchuk.org/projects/england-netball-working-beat-womens-cancers
