with the head slightly lower than the rest of the body.

4. Compress the bulb before inserting it into the mouth5. Gently insert the tip of the syringe into the side of the

infant’s mouth between the gum and the cheek.Do not insert it straight to the back of the throat.

6. Release the bulb slowly while it is in the mouth. Remove and empty it compressing several times before using again.

7. Suction the nose, only if necessary., after the mouth is suctioned.

8. Suction the nose gently and avoid unnecessary suction.9. Document the procedure
