Flanked by successful governors, Meg Whitman campaigned around
California last week and voweto take Sacramento back from the
entrenched interests and stand up for hardworking Californians
who seek a new kind of leadership.
Whoever becomes governor in California will have major
repercussions around the nation, said NeJersey Gov. Chris Christie,
who joined Meg in Los Angeles. She is the best thing that can
happen
to the state of California, and I am ready to work with her and
other Republican governors startingnext January to stop the
craziness going on in our country and bring our country back.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, campaigning in Fresno and San
Diego, said this is a critical election
not only for California, but for America, Jindal told a crowd of
nearly 400 in San Diego Fridaynight. Youve got a clear choice right
here. Because Meg is the only candidate in this race for
Governor whos actually created thousands of jobs, helped
thousands of small businesses getstarted. She understands the
greatness of California is not in our government -- it is in our
people
and it is so important to get California back on the right
track.
Gov. Christie and Gov. Jindal both said they wanted to campaign
for Meg because they areconfident she can make the tough but
necessary changes to turn California around. New Jersey an
Louisiana, too, have faced daunting challenges but are turning
the corner because of determined
leadership at the top.
Meg pointed out that the two governors have confounded the
naysayers by pushing ahead with
much needed reforms. They have stood resilient, making tough
decisions and taking action. Its
exactly that style of leadership that Meg will bring to
Sacramento, should the voters elect her inlittle over a month.
There is a way forward -- we can turn California around, Meg
said in San Diego Friday night.
There are other states that are doing the things we must do.
When people tell you it cant be donin California, dont believe
them. We can do it too, and we will.
In New Jersey, Gov. Christie beat an incumbent governor less
than a year ago and ever since hesbeen fighting the status quo,
working to eliminate the state's deficit and taking on public
corruptio
and the public employee unions. Gov. Jindal has shown determined
spirit in not waiting for the
federal government to take action after the oil spill, and
putting in place reforms to attract familiesand businesses back to
Louisiana.
In the year and a half shes been on the campaign trail, Meg has
earned the support of national
Republican leaders from coast to coast. In addition to Christie
