Important Reminders Thomas Tran For the most part, my academic journey has come down to being patient, trusting the process, and just doing what is expected of me. As an Aerospace Engineering Major, I personally think it is a little harder than other engineering fields given the fact that crashing an airplane is far costlier (and deadly) than crashing a computer or breaking a car. Therefore, it is not just doing the required work and getting the required grade to pass the class. It entails taking the course with an intent and focus—the ability to draw the connection between coursework and what an actual engineer would do in the field. Besides these challenges, I am an Honors student and am required to take an additional 24 credit hours in order to graduate with the Honor’s designation. This makes my workload a little heavier but it has also trained me and helped to shape me into the person I am today. One last thing that really complements my academic journey and struggle is being a tutor for the Student Support Services program. Being a tutor for the program has been an honor and a pleasure since it allows me to assist others who are undergoing similar difficulties. It also helps me to reinforce the knowledge obtained from prior courses by teaching and conveying it to other students.
