Why AgriMat?Horses were never designed to walk and lie on concrete. It’s abrasive, slippery, freezing cold in winter and ‘hard as the hammers’. Concrete flooring and walkways are a leading cause of slippage and hoof wear. The costs are significant yet avoidable.

Likewise, most horse truck and float floors are not designed with horses in mind. Hardwood flooring can become very slippery, stressing the animals or worse, contributing to falls.

On AgriMat rubber matting the hoof naturally sinks into the surface shaping to the animal’s contours and giving it grip and confidence. It’s non-abrasive, reducing wear and tear on horses’ hooves. And AgriMat will provide a warmer, quieter and more comfortable environment for animals and handlers.

Dairy farmer Peter Marwood says he discovered Numat Agrimat at the Mystery Creek Fieldays and decided to install AgriMat in the pitmat of his milking shed and also in his daughter’s horse stable.

Peter decided the matting was a better alternative to wood chip in the stables.

“It’s a bit of a process cleaning out a stable laid with wood chip and the horse would tend to play in the stuff and get his chaff dirty, too. All that’s a thing of the past now with the matting down.

AgriMat Belmondo is a stable mat with a novel horse shoe pattern embedded in the surface and a fine ribbed base. Belmondo is manufactured in Germany and is extremely popular worldwide for stables and stall boxes. It is an interlocking mat and comes in two thicknesses: 18mm and 11mm.

AgriMat UniMat is an economy 12mm stable mat with a cellular profile and ribbed base. It is an interlocking matting system which can be cut to shape. The mats can be anchored down.

Float MattingWall LiningsAgriMat FlatMat is used on the walls. This has a flat profile and base, and with a depth of 4mm or 6mm, it’s lightweight for easy installation. Industrial adhesive, screws and finishing washers are used for installation. A black silicon seal gives an excellent finish between the wall and the floor. Impact BuffersAgrimat Buffs are solid rubber buffers to take the shock out of heavy impacts between the ramp and ground. They are ideal for horse float ramps, taking the strain off the hinges and framework, and protecting the paint work when they impact with the ground.
