The theme for this year’s event is ‘succeeding through the digital revolution’, as we will be focusing on how digitalisation is changing the way we bank and our expectations about the institutions we bank with, opening up new revenue opportunities for banks, as well as blurring the boundaries between banking and other industries.

Over the next few days, we will be delivering presentations from Temenos executives, partners and customers, including plenty of product updates and demos.

To help bring clarity and insight to the discussions, we will also be joined by some great guest speakers, including Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square, the cloud-based payment provider, who will be discussing the future of cloud innovation.

The banking industry is going through a revolution, with customer behaviour changing, technology changing and regulation becoming more stringent. Over the next two days we will be helping you understand the solutions that will enable you to succeed through it. We will be showcasing new solutions, such as Temenos Payment Suite (TPS) and a new range of apps we have built together with Microsoft on Windows 8, as well as major enhancements across existing products including T24 for corporate banking and wealth management, and digital channel solutions. We will also be demonstrating some of the latest architectural improvements, such as enhancements to our graphical workflow and the design studio. Lastly, we will introduce Temenos Software Services, a new business we have set up within Temenos to address the growing demand for SaaS.

We are holding a variety of breakout sessions, drawing on the knowledge and expertise of our customers to show you the practical, real-life benefits our products can bring. These breakouts largely reflect the topics and agenda of main stage presentations on day one, with several breakouts providing more detailed

information on wealth and digital channels, for instance.

In addition, we are hosting breakouts on many other Temenos products, such as risk, Islamic banking and treasury, as well as a number of more thematic breakouts on topics such as digitalisation and changing banking business models. We hope that you take advantage of all we have to offer, attending as many of the breakout sessions as possible, using the meeting service to engage with our product experts, and taking the opportunity to get involved. TCF is now one of the largest financial services conferences in the world, but we are delighted that it has retained its openness and familiarity. Participants actively share their experiences and know-how, which makes it a great conference to network at and learn.

I would like to thank our sponsors Accenture, Deloitte, Inlaks, SOFGEN, Cognizant, EFS Technology, HID Global, IBM, Microsoft, Validata, and all of our customer speakers. These include representatives from Al Khalij Commercial Bank (al khaliji), Bank Muscat, Mauritius Commercial Bank, ME Bank, BlueShore Financial, Sinapi Aba Savings & Loans, Federal Bank of Lebanon, and North Africa Commercial Bank.

TCF 2013 was our largest ever and based on feedback, it was also our most successful to date.

At TCF 2014, we have more product launches, more breakouts, more innovation forums, more company updates, more fun and I am confident that it will be better still!

I trust that you’ll enjoy all aspects of the conference, find it fun and rewarding, and I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

David Arnott, CEO, Temenos

A7: Connecting with the Digital Generation

According to recent Accenture research, the digital generation represents 75 million active investors with $27 trillion in assets. Gen D investors are not differentiated by their age, but rather by their broad adoption of technology, especially their use of digital and social channels in almost every aspect of their lives. Undoubtedly, Gen D equals massive opportunities - but attracting, engaging and retaining this next generation of investors won’t fall into financial advisors’ laps. Wealth and asset management firms and their advisors will need to employ very specific techniques for reaching these ‘always on’ consumers, and not just any strategy will do.

This presentation will look at a few ways that management firms can attract, engage and retain the next generation of investors, including customer analytics, self-directed tools, community connection and gamification.

C7: Modernise Your T24 Implementation: Migrate from jBASE to DB2 & Implement the Temenos Integration Framework

What are the benefits, what is involved in completing a migration, and why choose DB2. Secondly, learn about the IBM Integration Bus (IIB - formerly called WebSphere Message Broker) and how it can accelerate your implementation of the Temenos Integration Framework using the recently released T24 Adapters for IIB.

F6: Future of Banking - Enabled Through Mobile Channels & Cloud Based Software Solutions

The world of banking is changing, customers are demanding more and more solutions to be available to them whenever they want and wherever they are. This requires banks to drastically change their approach to how they operate their banking software and how they deliver their products to their customers. Microsoft will show you how you can leverage the latest developments in cloud services and mobile computing to deliver modern, secure, immersive and highly profitable user experience.

B6: Modernising and Innovating African Banking - A Case Study from EB-Accion

The need for a robust, scalable core banking system in today’s African Banking is of strategic importance. Not only does it enable efficient processing but it also means that banks can do more with less and drive down expenditure. Banks now not only face the task of increasing efficiency but also to bring new products and revenue opportunities online fast.

This is where EB-Accion’s approach for building a better banking service comes in. The bank needed to be in a position to rapidly move with market changes, offer new and innovative products to its customers whilst driving down expenditure. Implementing T24 for Microfinance and Community Banking enabled the bank to focus its IT spend and development on growing the bank rather than spending 50% of its IT on managing software. This has placed the bank in a much stronger position with its customers across the continent. Learn more from EB-Accion at this session.

E6: Transformation of the Private Banking Industry - New Disruptive Business & Operating Models

The Private Banking industry faces a host of new challenges: new regulatory changes, increasing costs, technology legacy, new market and client needs, etc. In consequence, Private Banking institutions have to review their existing business and operating models. This affects both revenue levers – innovation, digital banking, pricing excellence, geographical footprint, etc. - and cost levers – new operating models, new sourcing options, etc. Most of the changes will require to revisit extensively the underlying IT landscape and architecture. This includes but is not limited to: support for international hub processing, support for Omni-channel architecture, new sourcing options including SaaS and BPO. This breakout session will provide a quick review of the new disruptive business and operating models and highlight how a modern and agile IT architecture can facilitate the transition to those new models.

Thursday 22 May

Breakout Stream C

C6: Project Optimus: Bringing a Smile to the Face of KCB Users & Customers

KCB acquired T24 as its core banking platform in 2006. The bank immediately commenced a complex process of implementing the system across multiple countries, culminating in 2008 after the system went live in the Kenya headquarters and in four subsidiaries. The total number of customers served is in excess of 2 million.

Post implementation, the bank commissioned SOFGEN to perform a system audit with a view to enhancing its use of the T24 system. The results of the audit spawned a project leading to significant improvements in overall system stability, substantial improvements in response times and increasing fit for purpose percentage (functionality) from 41% to 73% thereby cementing the overall confidence of the bank in T24.

Breakout Stream A

A1: De-Risking Risk - Temenos, Federal Bank of Lebanon & North Africa Commercial Bank, Lebanon

As many geographies return to growth, local authorities continue to increase regulation to ensure banks and financial service providers protect themselves and their customers from future failure. As the regulations increase, so too do the demands on IT with systems requiring extensive engineering to meet monitoring and reporting requirements. For many, this has meant a huge amount of manual work and a step back from the automation of processing that banks were implementing as part of their cost efficiency strategy. Temenos Insight Risk is designed to support your approach to Basel II & III, increased Liquidity Reporting requirement with the introduction of LCR & NSFR, asset and liability management (ALM) and market risk management strategy.

This session will look at the changes to regulation and reporting requirements across various geographies and show how the Insight Risk solution can address the issues caused by increased regulation, whilst improving overall efficiency and reducing costs.

Temenos will also be showcasing the new Insight Risk ‘Single Customer Risk View’ dashboard, an advanced framework to efficiently manage customer relation using risk pricing models.

Thursday 22 May

Breakout Stream C

C1: Customer Retention - How to Measure Success - Temenos

Ensuring your marketing is relevant to your customers individual circumstances has never been so critical. The competition is not only increasing, it is mobilising and contacting potential customers, your customers, using sophisticated marketing techniques. Almost all financial institutions already have access to the data required to ensure they present customers with relevant offers, but do not possess the tools required to manage and analyse that data efficiently. This session will look at how Temenos Customer Intelligence can help financial institutions manage data from multiple sources effectively to ensure they address individual customer needs at the right time, via the right channel.

The presentation will consider how data can be used for assessing eligibility and cross selling relevant additional financial products, building customer relationships and supporting retention programmes. It will detail new product packages that support rapid implementation – enabling faster recognition of the benefits the solution provides. The session will also include a demonstration and a case study detailing the achievements acknowledged by a client using the solution.

Breakout Stream E

E1: Measuring the Efficiency Gain - Temenos, Microsoft & BlueShore Financial, Canada

The biggest challenge faced by financial institutions in analysing all the data they hold to drive efficiency – is combining it effectively. Insight Operational Intelligence isn’t only a vehicle to create a single, accurate data repository, it is a vehicle to drive business process improvements and cost efficiencies. To ensure optimal performance, the Insight solution is available pre-integrated with T24 and this session will detail some new implementation options, which enable banks to realise the benefits the solution provides in a rapid time frame.

This session will also showcase the launch of the new business intelligence management dashboard app, which has been developed with Microsoft to provide senior management and executives with easy and intuitive access to the most relevant data. In addition to a case study from BlueShore Financial, who will discuss the benefits they have realised since implementing the solution, the presentation will conclude with details of additional client successes and information on the future roadmap.

Corporate Banking

Wednesday 21 May

Breakout Stream A

A2: The Temenos Guide to Treasury Efficiency - Temenos & Microsoft

Increasingly banks are looking to their treasury departments, which have traditionally contributed a significant proportion of profit, to maximise return. However greater competition with tighter margins, riskier products and volatile market conditions - together with regulatory reforms which are forcing banks to retain more capital - are challenges to this strategy. Difficult market conditions, with low yields and tighter margins, have resulted in dealers venturing into riskier products in order to meet their targets. To support this trading over a broad range of asset classes, multiple solutions have often been installed, resulting in complex interfaces to the core banking system, which place a greater management burden on the treasurer, risk managers and the IT department.

Treasury managers may be under pressure to earn higher returns, but the right systems can ensure that dealing room risk is also managed successfully. An integrated solution removes the need for unnecessary processing, and makes information easily available to all authorised areas of the bank. The Temenos T24 and T24 Treasury Trader solutions provide fully integrated front, middle and back office core banking functionality to meet the complete needs of an international bank treasury operation in a modern environment. Banks can quickly realise all the benefits of seamless straight-through processing and an unimpeded flow of information where required and authorised.

This session will show some of the key features of Temenos’ latest release - including a focus on Treasury Traders’ powerful front and middle office features together with a look at our latest Treasury Dashboard running on Windows 8 and delivering real-time views to treasury managers and senior bank personnel alike - and show how existing T24 customers can leverage their existing systems to take advantage of this offering.

C2: Managing Cash Management - Temenos

Increasing complexities around regulation and reporting continues to impact bottom line costs associated with cash management. Many institutions struggle to implement the best practice and process automation needed to support the requirements of their corporate clients, as well as the banks own internal requirements. Temenos has provided cash management functionality since the very first release of its core banking products and this has continuously evolved in line with the changing demands. This session will take a look at that journey, detailing the current solution and what we are working on to help you weigh up the benefits of upgrading.

Breakout Stream D

D1: Improving Efficiency in Trade Finance - Temenos & Aite Group

The focus on trade finance is changing. Areas such as supply chain finance are causing financial institutions to review their existing technology, in order to support more on-line and straight-through processing. As well as this, areas such as KYC and on-boarding are adding additional complexity. This, coupled with increasing volumes is creating an adverse impact on overall costs which in turn has a direct impact on profits. Financial institutions have to address this to keep down the costs they pass on to the corporates they serve, and remain competitive in order to retain their most profitable accounts.

This session will open with a review of the current market. It will then look at how the Temenos solution for trade finance addresses the growing requirements and demands, including details of the new functionality added to support forfeiting and factoring. The session will also outline the new workflows that have been developed working with existing clients and the future roadmap for the trade solution.

A3: What Really Makes Great Customer Experience - Temenos

A changing market landscape, consumer technology adoption and subsequent changes in consumer behaviour have catapulted the quality of the customer experience on to many financial institutions strategic agenda. In the face of dwindling customer loyalty, driven by increased pricing transparency, facilitated switching and of growing competition from new market entrants the customer experience can be the powerful differentiator – but what do customers really want and what really makes a great customer experience?

This presentation will look at what financial institutions need to consider when thinking about the customer journey and delivery of a quality customer experience. It will consider how to achieve consistency across channels whilst providing the optimum experience depending on the channel and device type. The session will also explore usability, responsive design, contextual and personalised content and interaction methods and discuss the importance of any time availability and how performance, scalability and security are critical to providing a positive customer experience.

The session will also consider how analytics, coupled with social media and gamification can be used effectively to deliver a rich, personalised user experience to support customer retention strategies.

B1: The Corporate Conundrum - Where Do Channels Fit? - Temenos & Aite Group

The need to offer functionally rich direct banking channels to corporate customers is rapidly increasing. This is largely driven by two key factors, the first of which is around the business needs of the corporate entity itself.

Channel banking for corporates is no longer about viewing latest positions and making payments to suppliers; it is about managing a full portfolio of business needs. Regulation around trade finance and lending, coupled with time constraints of the corporate treasurer, is forcing users into performing their transactions on-line - thus ensuring they have digital records and a means to track the associated processes; for example, with letters of credit. This, coupled with the requirement to allow various directors and employees to perform specific transactions remotely, means enabling corporates to perform all their transactions via the internet channel has become mandatory.

The second major factor is related to the expectations of the individuals in regard to the user experience being at an all-time high. These expectations are based on the individual’s retail experiences; not only with their financial services provider but with other on-line retailers such as Amazon.

This session will hear the views of the industry experts and look at how the solutions provided by Temenos are evolving to ensure financial institutions are equipped with the tools required to meet the expectations of today and the predictions for the future.

D2: Serving the Customer of the Future - Today! - Temenos

A new and very different generation of financial services consumers has emerged often referred to as ‘Generation Y’. For financial institutions to survive and secure a future they have to attract this new age consumer. Generation Y’ers have grown up in a digital technology world which has impacted the manner in which they communicate, socialise and interact. They are an informed, technology savvy, demanding breed of customer and the future life line for financial institutions.

This session will discuss the typical behaviour traits and expectations of Generation Y’ers and the challenges and opportunities that this presents to banks and the channels of customer engagement banks need to explore. It will cover the topic of being truly mobile and accessing real time information from any device – anywhere - any time, it will look at the range of devices being adopted by this new consumer type and discuss emerging devices such as smart watches. It will also discuss techniques such as gamification and using social media and how Generation Y is comfortable with the sharing of personal data and opinions and what this means to financial institutions.

This session will provide much food for thought in what needs to be done now to ensure that financial institutions are able to attract and serve the customer of the future.

Breakout Stream F

F1: The Bigger Picture for Customer Channels - Temenos

With the number of new personal devices coming to market at an unprecedented speed, it is no longer the role of the financial institution to dictate how customers interact with them, instead this interaction is now driven by the customer. Many analyst reports show that footfall in the branch is dwindling, customer loyalty is at an all-time low and switching bank accounts is becoming easier. This, coupled with increased competition, means customer expectations are at an all-time high. Financial institutions are under increasing pressure to invest in direct channels – but launching new products and services across new channels can be difficult and slow due to aging and complex systems. This session will look at how the Temenos Connect solution set for Retail banking can reduce these costs and overcome complexities, whilst providing customers with an intuitive, personal customer experience in a secure environment. This session will also detail how the implementation process can be tailored to ensure the best possible results and will close with a preview of the solution in action.

A6: Powering Profitable & Agile Growth with an Integrated PWM Solution - Temenos & Nordea Bank, Luxembourg

In the face of the profitability gap and relentless digitalisation of business, PWM institutions are hard pressed to review the efficiency and productivity of their entire value chain. At the same time, retail and corporate banks are eying potential revenue synergies from entering the PWM segment on a unified banking system. Both of these undertakings can be realised by deploying a seamlessly integrated, yet modular, PWM solution that brings together the full force of best-of-breed components and powers the business needs of the entire enterprise, from front-to-back. This approach also permits progressive renovation, which significantly reduces the cost and risk of transformation while equipping the enterprise for faster growth. This session will show how Temenos’ Integrated PWM solution with the award-winning Triple’A Plus and T24 PWM products at its heart is helping customers achieve these things. You will also hear a customer’s story of the transformation journey it has undertaken with Temenos’ Integrated PWM solution.

Breakout Stream B

B2: Using Exciting Structured Products to Attract New Business in a Low Yielding and Volatile Economic Environment - Temenos

Structured products were once considered exotic instruments that were used only by those who understood complex derivative instruments and could afford to lose significant amounts of capital. But now these products are being increasingly used by wealth management institutions in their management of client asset portfolios, and have more recently been distributed to the retail banking sector as a means of enhancing returns in a low-yielding environment. The demand is there and growing fast, partly driven by the intergenerational transfer of wealth: thanks to their higher average level of financial literacy and use of self-education, 40% of wealthy Generation X and Y investors hold derivatives (versus 12% of baby boomers). Structured products therefore represent a big and exciting opportunity to diversify away from traditional investments and maximise returns in both rising and falling and even volatile and non-volatile markets with downside protection. This session will introduce the features available in T24 PWM to support your expanding business as your investors venture into this growing market.

C4: Building User Experience Leadership to Capitalise on the Transfer of Wealth - Temenos

With USD $1 trillion a year in wealth being transferred down to Generations X and Y and the digitalisation of business occurring in all age segments, the preferences (interactional & transactional) and expectations of PWM clients are evolving fast. Research shows that the intergenerational asset retention rate of PWM firms has fallen to as little as 5% in some regions as they struggle to harness new technology to empower relationship managers and ‘wow’ clients - both old and young - by offering a seamless and coherent multi-channel user experience (UX). This session will show how Temenos’ latest channels and interfaces, such as the relationship manager tablet interface and TCIB channel for PWM, can help institutions strengthen their virtually-enhanced relationship management capabilities, offer a consistent user experience across all channels, and thus capitalise on the massive opportunities offered by the ongoing transfer of wealth.

Breakout Stream F

F3: Achieving Operational Excellence in PWM - the Backbone of Success - Temenos

Six years on from the last financial crisis, the average cost-to-income ratio of PWM institutions still sits 10 percentage points above its pre-crisis level. In their protracted quest for cost-efficiencies, wealth management institutions have realised that one of the most powerful levers available to them is deploying or optimising their use of modern best-of-breed core banking and data management systems. By harnessing the extremely high levels of end-to-end process automation (STP) and leveraging the massive levels of scalability, resilience and agility that a modern core banking system like T24 PWM has to offer, wealth management institutions can attain levels of operating efficiency superior to the industry average. Similarly, by automating the optimisation of master data quality, cutting-edge enterprise data management solutions like Temenos DataSource significantly reduce the risks and costs of meeting data-driven regulatory requirements. This session will examine how T24 PWM and DataSource help PWM firms maximise cost-efficiency and reduce risk in the face of constant margin pressures.

B5: The Upgrade Story - Temenos & Client

Well planned and executed upgrades are amongst the most effective ways to introduce new benefits to your organisation, and increase your return on investment in our software. Amongst the opportunities they bring are use of new functionality and modules, streamlined technical architecture, and elimination of redundant local developments.

In this session one of our leading practitioners will describe our refreshed Upgrade Assessment service, which provides the basis of an informed decision on the approach to the upgrade, and helps to produce an upgrade benefits case, roadmap and plan. In the words of a recent customer “it opened our eyes to possibilities we had not considered”.

The upgrade assessment is normally followed by upgrade execution, which may be led by Temenos or one of our certified upgrade partners. We will describe the technical upgrade process, and explain the repeatable, low-risk approach executed by our specialist offshore team - who also provide a level of assurance for partner-led upgrades. We see a growing trend amongst our jBASE customers to consider moving to a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) as part of their roadmap, we will take the opportunity to explain the repeatable approach and methodology we now offer for such a step in conjunction with our Technology Partners IBM, Microsoft and Oracle.

We will also be ready to answer your related questions, either at the conclusion of this session or by appointment at the upgrades desk in the TCF Meeting Service.

B3: Aligning System Interaction with Customer Interaction - Temenos & Bank Muscat, Oman

Historically, every time any system is changed in a bank’s environment, the interfaces that connect the systems together need to be amended or redesigned. This causes a number of issues, not only around maintenance and costs, but also with time to market. To address those issues – the Integration Framework and enterprise architecture, provides a more agile landscape that allows us to rapidly change and upgrade systems.

But what are the real benefits of using this leading technology?

This session will include a detailed and compelling case study from our client; Bank Muscat, who command over 40% of the Omani banking market share. The bank will explain why they decided to enter into a technical upgrade, how they managed and delivered that project and the benefits the project has delivered. The session will also include an update from Temenos that will take a look at future plans for the integration framework and what it could mean for the future of a financial institution’s overall architecture.

D3: Customer Retention - Keeping Your Best Customers - Temenos

It is not desirable for most banks to retain all of their customers, however focusing on retaining the most profitable customers reaps rewards.

Competition for customers and share of wallet continues to increase. Online only banks and premier customer offerings, retailers launching innovative financial services, comparison websites directing customers to the best offers; consumers are spoilt for choice! Financial institutions are in possession of a wealth of data that could aide their customer retention strategies but often struggle to use it to its full potential. This session will look at how Temenos customers can take full advantage of the market leading Arrangement Architecture (AA) to address many of the issues that are hindering customer retention. This session will also provide details on how the latest features of AA, coupled with the other standard integrated features of Temenos T24, can improve efficiency and provide an end-to-end process to help financial institutions focus on their most profitable customers as well as increasing the profitability of other customers. The session summary will include reference to recent client case studies and look at the future plans for the product.

C3: Temenos Introduces SaaS - Temenos

Temenos continues to expand the range of its software products that are available as a service. This session explains the many benefits of Software as a Service (SaaS) including greater flexibility, lower maintenance burdens including automatic upgrades and lower overall cost of ownership. You will learn what products are available as a service and how your organisation might benefit from their use.

C5: Payments: From Utility to Profitability - Temenos

Secure, efficient payments are the lifeblood of any bank. Traditionally seen as a utility, payments processing is an essential functional part of a bank. But as banks struggle to cope with declining profits associated with credit related services and their related bad press, this utility could be seen as the ‘great white hope’.

This session looks to explore how banks can profit from payments from both a retail and a corporate banking perspective. Focus will include, opportunities to profit financially through the delivery of value added services such as payment deferral solutions to support corporate liquidity and mobile technology supporting cross-sales. Profiting through customer loyalty will also be explored, with particular focus on real-time (payments and services) to make payments pay.

Breakout Stream D

D6: T24 Clients Upgrade to SaaS - Temenos

This session explains how existing T24 clients can upgrade their on-premise T24 into the Temenos Software as a Service (SaaS) offering. This can reduce costs, improve resilience and remove many routine administrative tasks. You will never need to upgrade again.

Breakout Stream E

E5: Payment Hubs: Revolution Not Evolution - Temenos

Payments systems have traditionally been under-invested in. This means bringing new and innovative products to market is difficult at best. Financial institutions (FI’s) are finding that their siloed payment systems are a real hindrance, especially as they try to compete with new players in the market. Even if they choose to upgrade their current system with additional functionality that supports better STP rates, adds new channels, adapts to new formats and accesses new clearing houses, this is likely to be a costly and time-consuming exercise.

This session evaluates what is required to realise the opportunities that the new payments environment presents. It will cover how financial institutions can create clear differentiation between themselves and their competitors. It explores in particular the new, agile payment hub solutions and what needs to be considered to enable FI’s to realise the payment opportunity.

F7: Disruptive Business Models to Capitalise on the Digital Revolution - Temenos

Banking used to be an industry with high entry barriers, which protected it from competitive threats and helped it to sustain very high margins. The situation is now very different. Technology changes accentuated by other changes, such as diminishing customer loyalty and a regulatory agenda to introduce more competition are changing the way we bank, as well as opening up the market to new competition.

In this session, we will share the findings from a report we have written looking at, and interviewing, financial services companies that have capitalised on this technology change to launch new, innovative business models. We will also be joined by one or two of the financial services providers mentioned in the report.

B4: It’s All About Process - Temenos

All businesses require a proper combination of people, process and technology to succeed. The way these three elements complement each other effectively and efficiently is through human workflow, which coordinates the interaction with various people to achieve the common business goal. But workflow alone is not enough, other elements, such as business activity monitoring, task escalation and notification, creating a process repository with proper versioning, are also a necessity; and features of a business process management system. This session will look at how the integration of Temenos T24 with an external workflow, proven with Red Hat’s business process management, can improve process efficiency and drive down internal costs. This session will also incorporate a demonstration of the latest product developments and look at the future roadmap for process management.

Thursday 22 May

Breakout Stream D

D4: The New Oil – Making Your Data Count - Temenos

T24, since it was first designed, has been data oriented. The architecture has always distinguished enquiries (reports) from versions (transactions). As reports and transactions were accommodated within a single logical model, it was necessary to optimise one or the other. All enterprise products have, up to now, optimised for online transaction processing (OLTP) rather than reporting (online analytic processing OLAP). The compromise is at both the logical level and the physical level. This compromise is no longer acceptable for two reasons. Firstly, the ratio of enquiries to versions is about to balloon, as it did in online travel and online retail, as banks move their channels to online and mobile. Temenos expects this ratio to go from roughly 5:1 if a teller enters a financial transaction, to 500:1 on mobile devices such as smart phones. Secondly, in order to provide a customer-centric banking approach, banks need to provide much more data both to their customers and also to their employees. This is generally expressed as the need for complete balance and transaction reporting. Once provided, customers can see all their banking transactions online and these can be easily sliced and diced and used as the basis for many different round trip portfolio management applications, ranging from personal financial management through to discretionary asset management.

The data framework is the Temenos approach to creating, within a single product, a homogeneous data store with two logical and two physical models. One logical and physical model optimised for OLTP

and the other for OLAP. This provides near real-time movement of business events from one to the other, using the existing Temenos Integration Framework to move the events and the Temenos Interaction Framework to redirect enquiries and reports to the reporting database.

F4: The Temenos API Economy - Temenos
