To Play:
1. Each student receives on fish bowl card and counts the number of fish in the
bowl. This is the number they will be solving for. The subtraction sentence cards
are spread out, face down, in the middle of the table.
2. A player chooses a subtraction sentence card from the middle of the table and
solves it (using manipulatives if necessary). If the amount of fish in his fish bowl
matches the answer to the subtraction sentence, he may keep the card. If not,
he must return the card to the middle of the table.
3. The winner is the first student to find all 6 subtraction sentence cards to match
his fish bowl.
Note: for advanced students, use the fish bowls with 5 or more fish and the
matching cards. For students just beginning subtraction, use the fish bowls with
4 or fewer fish and the matching cards.
