Review Duplicative Coursework Policy No. 3 in the Course Title Usage Guide.Courses are on the same level of the standard high school math progression.

The ‘standard high school math progression’ is defined by the existing course titles on the high school’s NCAA core-course list.

The standard math progression for the first three years of high school math as defined by the list of NCAA courses is:

Each defined math course title progression with be found duplicative of each other.

Jane Smith completed ‘Math I’ at School A and ‘Algebra 1’ at School B.Both course titles are the first course within the math progression at each high school.

‘Math I’ and ‘Algebra 1’ are deemed duplicative course titles.

The best grades, per semester, will be used for a maximum of one credit earned.

However, per Split Exceptions on page 7 of the Course Title Usage Guide, ‘Composition’ in a course title can be ignored in order to match the remaining part of the title.

For ‘Language Arts’ coursework, there is not a substitution policy.

English 2 on the list of NCAA core courses CANNOT be substituted for ‘Language Arts 2’ on the transcript.

Specific ‘English’ discipline policy.

For a course title that includes ‘Journalism’ there is NOT a substitution policy.

There must be a verbatim match on the list of NCAA core courses.

‘Journalism’ on the list on NCAA core courses CANNOT be substituted for ‘Journalism-Yearbook’ on the transcript.

‘Plant Science/Horticulture’ is on the transcript but only ‘Horticulture’ is on the NCAA core-course list.

There is NOT an exception.

Move to the ‘Remainder Chart’ on page 8 of the Course Title Usage Guide.

Okay to use ‘Horticulture’ for 0.5 credits.
