SUBSEA TRAINING SERVICES

ROV Subsea Train ing

As an operator of more than 20 submersible systems, Global Marine Systems

has a training facility and equipment to support its offshore personnel.

The Subsea Services Group offers IMCA aligned ROV training courses for newentrants into the industry, as well as a Certificate of Competency Scheme alsofurther training courses that takes new entrant ROV Pilot technicians through toROV Superintendents.

Trainees are given theory and practical opportunities to develop in the role priorto going offshore as part of a team on an ROV system.

In addition to the normal Subsea equipment in Portland Subsea Depot, we havea dedicated Falcon, Open Frame Sprint and Trojan work class ROV’s, to give the

trainees hands on experience. This is complemented with a simulator for com-puter based training and scenariomodelling.

Although the training courses providea standard set of competencies, eachelement of the training can be modi-fied or customized to meet specificcustomer requirements. Similarly, be-spoke modules and elements can beadded to match specific requirementsof the customer, such as for compe-

tency based systems or specializedactivities.

We are also able to offer the manage-ment and implementation of the ROVOperators Competency Scheme. Thisincludes the verification of an individ-ual’s portfolio of work records togetherwith issuing certification and logbooks. We can provide in-house as-sessor training with further trainingmodules in HV Awareness, pilotingskills and fibre optic termination.Lesley WhiteGlobal Marine Systems
