A Letter from Miss ThomasDear Parents, Happy Fall! It is hard to believe we have been in school a little over a month now! Our testing window concludes October 7th.Teachers will be able to share the results with you during parent/teacher conferences but we will send officialtest results home once the test window is complete. wear appropriate non-uniform clothes. In addition, we have one change to the dress code: students may nowwear uniform shorts any time of the year. Previously shorts season ended October 1st and started againMay 1st. This may be great news for some, but please remind your child they will still go outside! During pick up and drop off it is important for everyone to be extra aware of little ones in the parking lot andthose crossing the street. If you are coming in the school building to drop off in the morning or pick up in theafternoon, we encourage you to park in a space which is not blocking the flow of traffic. It is important to keepthe flow of traffic moving either in the parking lot or in the street. If you are coming into school to pick up achild, please make sure when you leave you hold hands with your child when entering the parking lot. Toooften children have run into on-coming traffic and we want to make sure everyone arrives home safe andsound. I appreciate your support and patience with pick-up and drop off. We have a small space for parkingand it takes everyone’s part in being alert and aware of children arriving and leaving school. We have two feasts days coming up, All Saints Day and All Souls Day, to serve as a reminder that all of us,living and dead, are united in a living communion with Christ and one another. Halloween is like our MardiGras before Lent. We can use it to help us become the saints we are each called to be! You are invited to join usfor Mass on Tuesday, November 1st in celebration of All Saint’s Day. You are welcome to walk the halls to learnmore about various saints as prepared by our middle school. Your teacher will communicate with you what willbe happening in your child’s classroom for Halloween which will be celebrated on Friday, October 28th. As we begin our autumn transition it is a great time to reflect on the leaves changing and how God continuesto work through nature to teach us a lesson. What a great opportunity to remind ourselves of what it means tobe vulnerable: to be open to growth and change. Similar to how the leaves change and then fall, we too mustbe open to letting go in order for new growth to come. God’s power continues to work through us andchallenges us to be more open and vulnerable. Thank you for your continued support and prayers! God bless,

    Miss Thomas

They also received their chromebooks and started to exploreGoogle Classroom. It was a great start to the year, which will focus on 21st century learning with an emphasison spiritual and academic habits of mind. - Amanda Makarewicz

Introducing . . . the Gaga PitPrincipal Cindy Thomas and pastor Fr. Scott Nolan got the students fired up as they demonstrated the nuancesof gaga ball in our new pit. Many lively games were played that first day and many more have been playedsince. The gaga pit has proved to be a popular outlet for daily exercise and fun.

A big thank you to Kevin Stotts, Jerry Moore, Derek Jensen, and Adam Donovan for leveling the ground andbuilding a retaining wall. Without your help, this would not have been possible.

Johnny Appleseed DayJohnny Appleseed was the star of the show as first graders celebrated Johnny Appleseed day on Monday. Theyread a book about him, made a puppet, and played a Johnny breakout game (designed by Mrs. Dressander, ofcourse). Students also celebrated all things apples by making making homemade applesauce, sampling differenttypes of apples, and playing an apple tree game. A fun day was had by all.
