Along with its many other features, the Internet is home to thousands of discussion groups known as Usenet newsgroups. Each group is devoted to a single subject, and the discussions can be wide-ranging and spirited. Your UA computer account is all you need to read and participate in Usenet newsgroups. Depending on the computer system where your account is located, you have a choice of several different software programs (known as newsreaders) which connect you to the newsgroups.
