Aaaron Siskind Extension Activity
If you want to delve deeper into Siskind’s work and enjoy the visual
journaling process, develop a page/spread about his photography. You
can include your opinion, a description of the artist/genre/photographs,
quotes … As always, your final assignment should demonstrate your
critical and creative thinking.
You can complete this assignment digitally using a word processing application
(Microsoft Word, Pages, Google Docs...) or use a free graphic design platform (
Canvas- https://www.canva.com) to create a moodboard/photo collage.
Create a physical copy using your visual journal (only if you already have it at
home) or on loose leaf paper. To submit, photograph your assignment.
Minimally Meeting/Approaching Expectations: Assignment is submitted and
grade stays the same: status quo; assignment is a pass or not, but grade
does not decrease.
Fully Meeting/Exceeding Expectations: Assignment is submitted, based upon
the quality of the assignment grade is an upgrade to the students’ present
