Looking for Host Families to house GLAA Students/Staff on Oct 14th. Please contact Ginger ASAP at [email protected] with the number of people and preference (male/female) that you can house. Thank you for opening your home to them. You will need to pick them up from Metro after their concert, feed them breakfast, and deliver them back to Metro for Sabbath School the following morning by 9:15 am.

Church Renovation Project: Project Goal $200,000 with $39,000 on hand. For more information, contact Tom Verhelle. Yorba: Our church will no longer be participating in or accepting donations for Yorba.

Are You Uncompromised? Sabbath, October 21 & 22 we will have the special privilege of hearing from Don and Lisa Sawvel about what it means to live without compromising our purity and integrity. Friday evening the 21st will begin at 7 pm and will have special focus on how to build strong marriages. Then Sabbath morning the Sawvels will share their testimonies about how Christ has given them purity and boldness in their lives. The last presentation at 2 p.m. will be breakouts for men and women to hear topics specifically addressing the challenges we face. Plan now to come and be blessed. A love offering will be taken to support their ministry. Pack a lunch and stay for the Sabbath afternoon. Bible Study Reformation Kickoff Sabbath on October 22nd from 9:45 am to 3:45 pm: All members are encouraged to attend. The Sabbath school and afternoon services will convey important information, so plan to come for the entire program. Elder Duane McKey, General Conference Assistant to the President for Total Member Involvement, will give us a mission report of this world church initiative and help us kick off our own exciting initiative—BibleStudyOffer.com! Global Public Campus Ministry Weekend: On Sabbath, October 15 we have the privilege of hosting a worldwide event to highlight Public Campus Ministries. Representatives from the General Conference, The North American Division, the Lake Union, and the Michigan Conference will be with us along with guests from across the Lake Union. Sabbath School in the Sanctuary will begin at 9:30 a.m. that day and Worship Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. The Worship Service will be streamed live on Hope Channel and we will have a fellowship meal together following the service. All the food will be provided so no need to bring food items. We will also be blessed to have the GLAA Advent Heralds orchestra and singers with us for the service plus there will be a special Friday Night concert at 7 p.m. on October 14th. This will be a spectacular day and is a grand opportunity for our church to partner with the world church. Thank you in advance for being flexible with us on this special day!

Metro Members: Time to Check your Mailbox, Mailboxes are located in the fellowship hall. If you do not have a mailbox, please contact Ginger Bentley at [email protected] subject “Mailbox”.

All Hands on Deck - Church Work Bee: October 23r d (Rain Date: October 30). A sign-up sheet will be passed around to get an estimated count on who will be in attendance. Outside will be the priority for this event. If you have powered/manual trimmers, extension cords, yard blowers, rakes, window squeegees that can be used for the day, please contact Jeff Baxter.

First Step: We will be collecting items again this year for First Step Women's Shelter from October 22, to the end of November. You will find information on the insert in your bulletin and on the Women's Ministries bulletin board in the fellowship hall. Thank you for your support of this worthy program.

Bridge Fundraising GALA: It's that time of year once again! BRIDGE will be holding our second annual formal and you all are invited! This year we are encouraging young adults to come out and enjoy a wonderful evening of gourmet food and entertainment for a great cause. All proceeds will benefit Ann Arbor Adventist Elementary. Tickets are $34.00 per person and are available at www.bridgedetroit.org. Come out and enjoy a wonderful night October 23rd at 6:30pm!
