WHY CHOOSE AIL ESPAÑOL?

TRUSTWORTHY TEAM

We have three distinct administrative departments that work together to make your trip to Spain a success. Our Academic Department skilfully plans and directs your chosen classes and activities, while the Accommodation Department selects the best families to host you and you students. Finally, the incredible Study Tours Department serves as your first point of contact throughout your time with us, ensuring you feel at ease from the moment you step into our school.

EVERY DETAIL TAKEN CARE OF

Our team at AIL Español will oversee every aspect of your study trip to Spain and make sure that it serves its primary purpose of teaching your students Spanish and allowing them to discover Spain’s magic. We organise: Spanish classes, accommodation, outings and cultural activities, excursions to other cities, transport, flights and insurance.

Our programmes are totally flexible and offer 100% customisation for each group. You get to choose the dates for your trip, its length, the number of participants and classes, the type of student accommodation and the extracurricular activities your class participates in. In turn, we’ll take all your tastes, preferences and expectations into account when planning your trip in order to serve you a one of a kind, personalised experience.

TUTORS INCLUDED

Teachers accompanying student groups are included in the overall study trip price. They are provided accommodation in a host family home (either a half board or full board individual bedroom) and free participation in the additional activities undertaken by their students. We offer one free teacher space per ten students.

FANTASTIC RESULTS

10

AIL Español’s courses facilitate total immersion in the Spanish language thanks to a combination of formal classes, diverse activities and accommodation in the homes of welcoming native Spanish host families. A further advantage our trips bring students is exposure to the local customs and culture of Spain, allowing them to return home with a suitcase brimming with souvenirs and a mind overflowing with enthusiasm to learn more.

SATISFACTION

Surveys carried out at the end of AIL study trips have shown that 98% of participating students would recommend us to their friends. Similar satisfaction is seen amongst our visiting teachers, who recommend AIL to their colleagues and return year after year to organise further trips with us for their new classes.

With a track record for planning study tours as impressive as ours, you can count on us to organise a stellar experience for your class of Spanish students. Since 2006, we have welcomed over 500 student groups from primary schools, secondary schools and universities located all over the world. Though our groups hail from countries as diverse as China, the USA and New Zealand, what often unites them is their appreciation for our top-quality Spanish classes.

SPANISH CLASSES

COURSE PROGRAMME

Most of our groups choose to tackle the Spanish language with 20 language classes per week. Your class programme is planned before your arrival to Spain based on the level of ability of your students, the objectives of your study trip here and the hopes of your students regarding the classes. In this way, we adapt the course 100% to meet your students’ requirements.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

As the person who best knows your students and their needs, you as the teacher will get to decide the objectives of our custom language classes. Most teachers ask for classes to be centred around improving communication skills and overcoming the fear of speaking Spanish. Once we know your objectives, we can use our most effective teaching methods to ensure they are met in the most interesting, interactive and motivational ways possible. At the same time, we will instil the confidence in your students needed to practice and engage with Spanish at all times during their stay here.

SMALL GROUPS

Classes are run in small groups with the aim of maximising individual student interaction with the teacher, a process that facilitates faster and more effective learning. Before your arrival, we will divide your students into class groups based on level tests and your own comments.

SKILL LEVELS

We offer courses for all levels of ability, or A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. We also run classes for individuals that have never studied Spanish in the past.

CERTIFICATE

On the last day of class, each student will receive a course attendance certificate verifying their new level of Spanish.

RESULTS

You’ll be surprised by how quickly your students overcome their shyness toward Spanish once they begin using it more and more to order in shops, navigate the Metro, snag a drink or ice cream and chat with their host families.

AIL Español organises dynamic, interactive and interesting classes focused on optimising communication skills, each held in a small group and taught exclusively in Spanish. Rapid progress is guaranteed!

ACCOMMODATION

At AIL Español, we’re aware that accommodation plays a pivotal role in making an educational trip successful.

As such, we offer a wide range of safe, central and first-rate lodging options.

HOTELS, HOSTELS AND YOUTH HOSTELS

In AIL Español we can also arrange central accommodation in hotels, serviced hostels and youth hostels at a budget-friendly price.

STUDENT RESIDENCE

During the holiday season (July and August), we offer rooms in student residences to visiting students. This is the ideal option for groups who wish to house together and receive catering for all meals.

HOST FAMILIES

Staying with trustworthy Spanish host families is the most popular option amongst our study groups. There are many educational and cultural benefits to host families, as the accommodation choice allows students to remain in touch with the language throughout the day and completely immerse themselves in the Spanish culture. What’s more, students are able to see what the lifestyle of a typical Spanish family looks like – and the delicious local dishes it includes!

Our host families:• Live in safe, residential areas located only a short distance from the school.• Provide a warm and inviting atmosphere within comfortable homes.• Are all native Spanish speakers.• Are used to lodging students who arrive with a very low level of Spanish.• Have up-to-date certificates proving their total absence of sexual assault charges and other previous

convictions, a legal requirement in Spain for all individuals offering services to minors.• Provide everything necessary to make students feel at home: bedding, towels, WiFi, laundry for

students staying longer than a week, etc.• Are regularly inspected by AIL Español to maintain their excellent standards.

MADRIDA historic city with a cosmopolitan atmosphere, Madrid is the number one destination for studying Spanish at any time of the year.

You can find it all in the diverse city: enchanting architecture, internationally renowned museums, art galleries and picturesque parks and gardens. Madrid provides the best cultural and recreational offering of the entire Spanish-speaking world, as well as delicious local cuisine in Spain’s top restaurants and tapas bars.

The key sites to visit during your time here include the Puerta del Sol, a plaza at the very heart of the Spanish capital with the nationally famous statue of the Bear and the Strawberry Tree. The Plaza Mayor, or ‘theatre under the sky of Madrid,’ is another must-see, as is the imposing Royal Palace.

Art lovers can also delight at the Triangle of Art, consisting of three internationally known museums on the Paseo del Prado: the Prado, the Reina Sofía and the Thyssen-Bornemisza.

It is definitely worth paying a visit to the impressive palace of the Plaza de Cibeles, the mesmerising Fuenta de Cibeles and the Plaza de Toros of Las Ventas. We would also recommend spending a sunset at the mysterious Templo de Debod, the ancient Egyptian temple found near the Plaza de España. Finally, one cannot forget Gran Vía. Nicknamed the ‘Broadway of Madrid,’ it is one of the most emblematic streets of the city and hosts dozens of shops, restaurants, cinemas, theatres and some of the best hotels of the city.

Out of all of these reasons to choose Madrid as a study destination, however, is the reality that the Spanish spoken here is of the purest form of ‘castellano.’ Free of any regional accents that may confuse international students, the Madrid’s classic form of Spanish facilities comprehension and understanding for students learning the language at all ages.

You can find our Madrid-based campus in the elegant, safe and luxurious neighbourhood of central Salamanca. A few steps from the school is the Retiro Park, a beautifully designed public park surrounded by the most historic sites of the city (Gran Vía, Plaza de Cibeles, Paseo del Prado and the Puerta del Sol). Thanks to this very central location, we are able to offer our student groups a huge network of public transport connections (bus, Metro and train) that link them to both their host family homes and key tourism points. Supermarkets, cafés and traditional Spanish tapas restaurants are also within walking distance of the school for reasonably priced food options.

“I was in Madrid for 3 months, and they were without doubt the best months of 2017 for me. AIL was one of the reasons that I had such a great time. For me, AIL isn’t just a school, but a family. The teachers and all the other individuals that work there are incredible. What I like most about them is their passion for Spanish and how they passed it on to us with their fun and unique way of teaching. I can only say thank you to AIL for being the best language school in Madrid.”

Experiences at AIL Madrid:

Cássia, student from Brazil:

“If I could sum everything up in one sentence… ‘Can we go back to stay with AIL Madrid?’ A truly fantastic experience where everyone was super friendly, accommodating and kind. The classes were very interesting and the guided tours of the city and museums well organised. Keep it up, AIL!”Alessandro, Spanish

Kilometres of beaches, stunning monuments hidden in the shade of the trees and 300 days of sun per year make Malaga the popular destination it is today. The capital of the aptly named Costa del Sol is located in picturesque Andalucía, and lies on the idyllic Mediterranean Coast itself.

Malaga is considered to be one of the oldest cities in Europe and has acquired an important cultural heritage over the centuries. The Roman theature, fortress of Alcazaba, Gibralfaro Castle and souvenirs of the Arab period all offer breathtaking vistas of the city, while the Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica de la Encarnación provides one of many examples of stunning religious architecture. A stroll along the Muelle Uno promenade can also provide a beautiful view of the Bay of Malaga, the harbour and the region’s brightly illuminated castles, which are visible during both day and night.

With 37 museums, Malaga is quickly becoming the second capital of Spanish art after Madrid. Modern art lovers will be delighted to visit the Parisian Pompidou Centre, the Museum of Contemporary Art or one of the two museums dedicated to Malaga’s most famous native, Pablo Picasso.

If you wish to take your students to a safe, easy to navigate city suitable for both children and young adults, Malaga is an ideal destination!

I’ve already visited [AIL] five times with my 16- and 17-year-old students. Each time (both in Madrid and Malaga), I’ve received so much help and support from the people at AIL. My groups are often very large, but we divide them into smaller groups based on their level of Spanish. The teachers very quickly recognise the needs of the group and in this way my kids react positively and get the most out of the trip. The host families are their point of contact with Spanish life and, in the majority of cases, with an unforgettable experience. Thank you to everyone and see you next time!

Experiences at AIL Málaga:

Beata, Spanish teacher in Poland

“The course at AIL Malaga was really useful and interesting. Everything we did in class helped me to improve my Spanish and learn more about Spanish culture. The teachers were fun and patient and were what made me really enjoy being in the classroom. I also loved the activities and trips that we took part in during the evenings, especially the cooking class and games on the beach. It was the best experience of my life!”

VALENCIAValencia, the third largest city of Spain, is nestled into the eastern coast of the country alongside the Mediterranean Sea. With annual temperatures resting at approximately 18ºC and a record 20 kilometres of stunning sandy beaches, sea-loving visitors are able to bask in around 300 days of sun per year!

Besides its beaches, the urban landscape of the region is also marked by its ‘Green River.’ The former path of the River Turia, the green belt now offers 100 hectares of recreational zones, playgrounds and paths perfectly tailored for runners and cyclists.

As the architectural jewel of the Spanish map, Valencia is also home to the world-famous City of Arts and Sciences. The educational and training complex is characterised by its futuristic glass panels and arching white walls, and offers fascinating discoveries at its science museum, colossal Oceanogràfic aquarium, Hemisfèric planetarium and world-class IMAX cinema.

During your visit, you can’t forget to visit the Holy Grail of the Catedral de La Seu and the Gothic Micalet bell tower, which offers a stunning view of the whole city. In the centre of Valencia, it’s also worth stopping by the UNESCO-listed Lonja de la Seda, the Mercado Modernista and the galleries of the Museo de Bellas Artes.

If you enter the El Carmen neighbourhood of the Old Town, you can also come across the Serranos and Quart Towers, whose fortified gates and Medieval Valencian walls will delight lovers of architecture and history. In turn, nature fans must also pay a visit to the Bioparc, a unique zoo where most animals are species of African ecosystems.

“In June 2018, I organised a trip to Valencia for my 23 students. It was fantastic! The school staff were extremely friendly, flexible and competent and organised the details of our stay perfectly. The extra activities we participated in were varied and truly interesting, and my students really enjoyed themselves. The host families also played an important part in the success of our trip. They gave my students a very warm welcome and the meals were delicious!”
