Studies abroad
„WELTWEIT“ programme (priority is given to applications of German students):
Application deadline: 15 Dec 2016 for mobility in academic year 2017/18
„ERASMUS“ programme:
Application deadline: 01 March 2017 for mobility in academic year 2017/18
Note: early application deadline of 01 Feb for some specific ERASMUS destinations

Preconditions for nomination as ERASMUS or WELTWEIT student:
Enrollment at OVGU as degree student. Continued enrollment during mobility.
Note: Academic exchange students can not earn a degree from the partner
university.
Mobilities should not start before the 5th
Bachelor semester or the 2nd
Master
semester.
Language prerequisites: Documented proof of French, Italian, Portuguese,
Russian or Spanish for mobilities in countries of relevant official language.
30 ECTS, being the regular semester workload at OVGU, will generally be valid for
studies abroad as well. In the motivation letter or the study plan for your online
application, you must explain your motivation for studying abroad and propose
subjects, from the current course catalogue of the partner university, that you
wish to take.

Advantages for students nominated for the ERASMUS or WELTWEIT exchange programmes:
Tuition fees at partner universities, if any, will be waived for exchange students.
Exchange students benefit from special social and cultural assistance provided
by partner university.
Established procedure for recognition of study abroad courses, on the basis
of the agreed „Learning Agreement“. Contact person at FWW: Dr. Toni Richter
International Office will assist nominated exchange students in their registration
process at the partner university.
ERASMUS scholarships available for all nominated ERASMUS students. Range from
180 to 300 € per mobility month, dependent from country of destination.

WELTWEIT on-line application procedure:
1. On-line application open until 15 December, see http://www.ovgu.de/-p-38982
Every applicant may apply for a max. of two WELTWEIT partner destinations.
Documents to be attached to your online application (among others):
Motivation form (PDF format) and Study Plan (PDF format)
Documented proof of skills in the language of instruction and/or official
language of the country of destination
Transcript of records of current (and, if applicable, former completed) studies.
Download transcript via your LSF access.
A teacher recommendation letter shall be needed for some destinations.
All forms available in the „Formularpool“ („Documents and forms“)
of OVGU International Office
2. After the review of applications received, applicants will be notified by 20 January
via e-mail. Always use your OVGU student e-mail address for your application.

Every applicant may apply for a max. of three ERASMUS partner destinations.
Documents to be attached to your online application (among others):
Plain, individual motivation letter (PDF format) (observe hints for contents)
Documented proof of skills in the language of instruction and/or official
language of the country of destination
Transcript of records of current (and, if applicable, former completed) studies.
Download transcript via your LSF access.

Students nominated for an academic mobility must in the following …
study the „Factsheet on the recognition of study abroad achievements“ provided
by the FWW Examination Office, Dr. Toni Richter (check FWW homepage)
prepare and agree with Dr. Richter on the „Learning Agreement“
send documents for registration to the partner university after being instructed
from that university to do so
prepare the mobility semester, by closely observing the „Checklist“
prepared by the International Office
