Costa Rica is the perfect country to experience all of these concepts first hand. Costa Rica’s geographical location and varied climate make it an ideal home for a vast variety of plant and animal life. During the study abroad portion of the course, students will gain knowledge of how a country can experience economic and social growth while protecting the environment. This is a general education transfer elective course that fulfills the natural and physical science requirement for many programs at HACC.

Planned Travel Highlights:• Arenal and Poás volcanos• Pájaros Island Biological Reserve• Cloud forest• Sustainable projects such as fishing and organic farming• Canopy and kayaking trips• Hot springs • Afternoon volunteering in San José

Program Fee of $3,199* includes:• Tuition and fees for a three-credit HACC course• Accommodations on-site • Admission to sites and attractions that are part of the

program’s curriculum• All meals in Costa Rica• Round-trip air transportation• Travel insurance

*Travel courses are based on enrollment and could change or may be canceled if enrollment is low. All fees, once announced, are subject to change due to currency fluctuations, fuel cost increases and current costs. The deadline to apply and be enrolled in this course is Dec. 21, 2018. This course will close without notice once capacity is reached.

Financial Assistance:Scholarships up to $1,000 are available through the HACC Foundation. The deadline to apply for scholarships through the HACC Foundation is Sept. 19, 2018. Applying for scholarships does not guarantee receipt of funds. Financial Aid can be applied to the program fee. Please contact the Financial Aid office on your campus for more information.
