UCLan Masterplan Right now, our Preston Campus is undergoing a radical transformation as our £200m masterplan project nears completion. Our vision to create a world-class campus for the benefit of students, staff and the whole community is becoming a reality.A new Student Centre, opening in 2021, will look out over our new civic square, which will become an exciting hub of activity, a focal point for community events and an iconic gateway linking together the city and the University.Our new £35m Engineering Innovation Centre (EIC), which opened in 2019, has become a hive of innovation, bringing together University researchers, industry experts, local businesses and students in a spirit of collaboration and discovery.

Our Student Accommodation Service has an experienced team who are looking forward to welcoming you to Preston and will be available to help you find the right place the live. You will

find all UCLan owned and leased accommodation well-equipped with free internet and WiFiaccess. All prices include fuel and water bills plus internet access.

They provide advice and support as well as organising regular social activities, so you’ll get to meet new people and have fun. All our halls are within a few minutes walk of the campus, so

you’ll never have to worry about being late for lectures!

➢ The Lake District – declared an UNESCO World Heritage site

➢ Liverpool – maritime city. Visit the famous Albert docks or the cathedrals. Take a city bus tour

➢ Blackpool – the tower is modelled on the Eiffel Tower and the famous Tower ballroom.

➢ Crosby beach - Consisting of 100 life size case iron identical figures placed along a 1 1/2 mile stretch of beach, and facing out to sea, Another Place is truly a sight to behold.

➢ Preston – home of Wallace and Gromit.

➢ Settle to Carlisle railway - Described as one of the most scenic train journeys in the UK the Settle to Carlisle route travels 73 miles through the Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines.

➢ Take a tour of one of the football grounds – Manchester United or Liverpool

➢ Manchester – full of beautiful historical buildings and museums. (Science and industry museum, football museum, police museum. Visit John Rylands library – one of the most beautiful libraries.

➢ Chester - It's known for its extensive Roman walls made of local red sandstone. In the old city, the Rows is a shopping district distinguished by 2-level covered arcades and Tudor-style half-timber buildings.
