Why choosing France for your studies?
France welcomes more and more foreign students each year, and
almost 290 000 in 2012-2013
Lots of advantages for students in France: discounts for museums,
cinemas, cheaper accomodation…

France is the 5th world econimic power, ans several multinational
companies, such as Danone, Total, Peugeot, Airbus, Alcatel…

French system of studies
The baccalauréat is the high school
diploma enabling to follow studies at
university
France has got the LMD system:
• Licence (Bakalař) within 3 years
• Master (Magistr) within 2 years
recherche: with a small thesis at the
end of the second year
Professionnel: with a compulsory
internship
• Doctorat (doktorat) within 3 years

Higher education institutions
Universities: all fields of studies
« Grandes écoles »: prestigious schools with an entry test, for
engineering or business studies
Specialised schools: public or privates, they are specialised in Art or
architecture
Instituts d’études politiques: public institutes specialised in political
sciences, applied for working in high administration, buisiness or
journalism
6Study in France: How do I apply?
• What level of french, and what exam?
Each university has its own criteria
→ The recommended level of French: B2 for
most of the universities, or C1 for Art
schools (DELF or DALF may be required).
→ Diploma? Each university decides on the
equivalence of diplomas
→ there is no exam for enrolling university
→ Some programs can be studied in
English.
• how much does it cost?
→ Licence: 183 €
→ Master: 254 €
→ Doctorat: 388 €
Ingeeniring school: 606 €
Private schools: between 3000 and 10 000 €
Alternative to private business schools: IAE,
schools attached to universities.

Sending an application between February and April (language
diploma, diploma supplement, CV ...)
If needed, apply for a student accomodation with CROUS, with filling up a DSE [dossier social étudiant] online

Erasmus grant:
The possibility of using a scholarship Erasmus (max. 1 year), with no registration fees. You must notify the Department for International Relations by your university.
