The computer- screening tool that Nash developed with her mentors during her community-based internship will be used to collect specific information from the patients to make them aware of their legal rights. In addition to working at LACF, Nash was thrilled to split some of her time in the pediatrics clinic. “After a long year of working hard, being so involved at the hospital reminded me why I am studying to be a physician,” said Nash whose research is titled “Screening for Health-Harming Legal Needs in the Ambulatory Pediatric Clinic.” Tom LaRouere explained that he received a well-rounded view of pediatrics as his physician mentors ensured that he spent time on the pediatrics floor, its intensive care unit (ICU) and the clinic. He described his pediatrics ICU exposure as life changing.
