***SCHOOL RULES AND POLICIES***
❖ Before being dismissed for first period, ALL students MUST be
in their assigned areas. 6th grade students report to the
AUDITORIUM. No students are allowed to be in the hallways,
classrooms or restrooms WITHOUT PERMISSION.
❖ Locker times: Morning, after being dismissed from their
designated areas; Before and After Lunch; Between 4th and 5th
Period.
❖ Dress code: Burgundy polo shirt with BCMA logo, khaki/navy
pants/shorts or skirts that are knee-length, BCMA burgundy sweater
or solid burgundy sweater. School I.D. must be worn around the
neck at all times.
❖ ONLY ON FRIDAYS: Blue or black jeans with no tears, cuts or
holes, BCMA spirit t-shirt or college t-shirt.
❖ When dismissed at 3:50 p.m., all bus riders must proceed directly
and promptly to the bus ramps. School buses will leave at 3:57 p.m.
everyday. Car riders/walkers must proceed directly and promptly to
the front of the building.
❖ Be respectful to school personnel and fellow students.

Students will focus on the history and setting of East Asia. This will include the contributions and
influences of Ancient China on modern societies. Students will also evaluate how China’s densely
population has led to ESPN issues in the country.
Student Council: Students will implement a plan to wrap up or close out the Canned Goods
Donation Drive
Reading Enrichment: Students will practice the skill of inferencing / Drawing Conclusions

Monday/Tuesday -Unit #5 South and Southeast Asia
Urban Vs Rural Life in the region.
Students will learn about the characteristics of Urban and Rural life in the area and how people
adapt to the challenges of overpopulation. They will complete a reading assignment using Think
Aloud reading strategy, then complete a graphic organizer to record/ organize important

information. For their independent assignment they will create an employment advertisement
encouraging people to work in Kratie, Cambodia (rural) or Bangkok, Thailand (urban).
Wednesday/ Thursday
Students will learn about the history of Ancient leaders and groups in the region. The will compare
the Ancient Kingdoms of King Ashoka of the Mauryan Empire and King Chandragupta II of the
Gupta Empire? To demonstrate their mastery, they will work in their groups to complete an ACES
writing assignment.
Friday – Class Quiz and Binder check for completed Unit activity sheets and assignments.
Note- All students are required to have a binder for World Cultures.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION with Mr. Johnson
Unit: Re - Class Orientation
Objective: This week students will go over social norms, syllabus and rules and
procedures again for the new year. This upcoming week students will learn safety
procedures and incorporate cross curricular literacy into their Physical Education &
Health curriculum.
Students are expected to have appropriate athletic attire by the end of the week.
