Advising (English). English advisors are available to discuss course schedules, assist with registration difficulties, help students determine the best academic concentration, and direct them to specific help within the department.

Advising (General). Academic Advising & Retention Center (AARC). AARC coordinates academic student advising activities among colleges and departments. Advising is required for all degree-‐seeking students. AARC advises all undecided students and helps them plan for potential majors.

Campus Police. WKUPD supports WKU’s objectives by providing crime prevention programming, preserving the peace, protecting life and property, and fairly and impartially enforcing regulations of the University, ordinances of Bowling Green, and statutes of the Commonwealth.

Counseling and Testing Center. The Center provides a variety of psychological services to students that will augment recruitment, retention, and graduation by strengthening their capacity to tolerate distress, form healthy relationships, and seek healthy expressions of their ideals and values. Students pay a one-‐time, $20 fee, and services are free thereafter.

Financial Aid & Scholarships. The Student Financial Assistance Office can arrange meetings with financial aid counselors and help student access information about tuition costs, student loans, financial aid, and scholarships.

Student Accessibility Resource Center (SARC). SARC coordinates services and accommodations for students with documented disabilities. Our most common activities include reviewing disability documentation, meeting with students to determine appropriate accommodations, and partnering with other campus areas to implement accommodations.

Study Skills & Tutoring—The Learning Center (TLC). TLC provides students free, peer-‐to-‐peer, course specific tutoring. In addition to tutoring course-‐specific content, TLC offers assistance with academic skill areas such as note taking, time management, test taking skills, etc.

Writing Center. The Writing Center offers free, individual conferences about writing with our staff of English majors and graduate students in face-‐to-‐face sessions in Cherry Hall and Cravens Library and online. Our services are available to all Western Kentucky University students.
