DESCRIPTION

Citation preview

The Arkansas StudentGPS Dashboards are currently available to 116 districts across the state in

in alignment with their eSchoolPlus (Phase 1-3) implementation. In addition, we kicked-off

phase 2 of the project to extend and enhance the dashboards in the key areas stakeholders

requested. In August 2014, the dashboards will be available for every district in the state!

New Features

Transportation & Medical Alerts

Transportation and Medical Alerts for students are available for students on the ‘Student

Information’ page. The information displays morning and afternoon transportation method

(Bus, Bus Number Car, Parent/Guardian pick-up, or Drives Self). The medical alerts display

general information to alert teachers (i.e., peanut allergy, requires inhaler).

Dynamic Student Lists

Educators now have the ability to create Dynamic Lists within the dashboards. The lists are

based on personalized metric filters, such as attendance, discipline, course, assessments, and

sub-populations. Once a Dynamic List has been created, students automatically come on or

drop off a list and alert the teacher of the change Educators will be able to “share” the watch

lists within their district with other teachers/staff.

Attendance Metric

Excused & Unexcused Days

Customizable thresholds for attendance

Districts have the ability to view excused and unexcused days absences, in addition to the total

number of days absent for students. Districts can customize the attendance metric to the

requirements for their district. The dashboards will also provide additional information about

the type of excuse (school trip, doctor’s note, parent note, etc.).

In Progress

Interventions

Educators will soon have the ability to enter Academic Improvement Plan (AIP) or Intensive

Reading Intervention (IRI) for students through the Arkansas Student Intervention System

(ASIS). Additionally, teachers will have the ability to generate a Student Academic Report (SAR)

for any of their students throughout the year. The SAR displays state assessments, course

grades, attendance, and discipline information relevant to the student’s progress. The

interventions will be displayed through StudentGPS on a new ‘Interventions’ tab for students.

Currently, ASIS is being piloted with 5 districts across the state and will be available for all

districts beginning August 2014.

Local Assessments

Educators will have the ability to enter assessment data for students for DIBELS 6th, DIBELS

NEXT, DSA, DRA, & STAR. Districts may also copy/paste data for these assessments into the

dashboards from spreadsheets.

Measures of Effectiveness

The dashboards will display cut scores for assessment data and how a student should progress

through the year will be charted on a graph. Interventions data (e.g.,, start date, changes, end

date) will also be displayed. Teachers will be able to see a student’s progress and trends

throughout the year.

Cooperative, Congressional and State Level Dashboards

The new dashboards will include summary information for each region and information for

each of the metrics within the dashboards. No student level will be available, only aggregate

data will be displayed.

Transcripts

Enables the search function across districts to view student transcripts and provide the capability to publish transcripts to transcript clearinghouse organizations (e.g., NSC Speedy)

Future

Student/Parent Access

Enable parent and student access to their child’s dashboards, enabling parents the ability to

continuously monitor and track their child’s progress throughout the year. A parent/guardian

would be able to login to the dashboard have the ability to view their child’s information, view

potential areas of concern, and address these issues before they impact student achievement.

CCSS Resources

Educators have requested instructional resources aligned to CCSS be included within the

dashboards. The resources would not only be accessible to educators, but parents and

students as well.

Aid Notification

Provide seamless access to scholarship and grant opportunities. Our intent is to enable students

to view scholarships and grants available, the specific requirements, and indicate whether a

student has fulfilled the requirements for a scholarship. If a student has met the set criteria, we

could provide a way for students to initiate the application process, with the possibility of pre-

populating applications with the information already present within the dashboards.
