Why Google Voice?

Why Google Voice?

• Tasks spark interest because they challenge

• Grading is more efficient

• Cultivating communication skills is absolutely necessary

for the job market

Ludwig* and Siegfried* did a great job on their most recent guided conversation. Thought you might like to hear your son speaking German! :) Looking forward to Ludwig joining us for German Day in March! Frau Boynton

Thank you so much! Your email "fell

through the cracks" as I was deleting emails I found this one.

It's a keeper and I'm forwarding it

to family and friends! Thanks

for sharing!

We are so excited that she was asked to go! Honestly, we have

been concerned with her grade and thinking she was not doing well at all . We have a German neighbor, so if there is something she could work with her on, let us know. Thanks!

This was cool!  Thanks for sharing.  Rolf sounded like a true German....oh wait...he

is...both sides :)  My maiden name is Runge and married

a Schmidt :)

Thanks.  I did enjoy hearing

him!  He is planning on

going to German

day.

IP: The students had fun and were definitely engaged in the learning! I would venture to say their fluency improved significantly as well from

the many rehearsals they had before "making the call." I loved

being a part of it.

AP: Thank for being willing to “step out” and try new

things!! Learning on everyone’s part….teacher

and students!!

My Reflection1. I had 100% participation and turn-in result

using this technology. That kind of full participation does not often happen. Not to mention that I found the students to be very motivated and involved, which was great.

2. I've listened to all of the submissions and am using them as work samples to send to parents as "Witness to the Good"! With Google Voice, I can so quickly email the voicemail with a message about how their student is performing in German class! Love this aspect of this digital learning tool.

3. I'm going to play for the whole class a few of the really good ones, which I think will build community in my classroom and help get the kids excited about the fact that "YES, YOU ARE SPEAKING GERMAN!!!"

4. This is great for vertical teaming, because in AP German, the students will have to record themselves responding to speaking prompts. This is great to start practicing NOW.

5. I'm still feeling so amazed that JCHS got recognized by the State Superintendent for Schools. whoa. :D

6. This tech tool could also be used as a way to do an exit slip for ANY class, not just World Language.
