MindTap, with its “amazing” mobile app, makes learning fun for anxious returning student.

How would you describe your experience with MindTap?MindTap is an awesome learning platform! I’m a returning student after being out of college for three years. I was nervous about everything and had never taken an online class. I’m pretty good with technology, but not so good with understanding material unless I study hard and ask 100,000 questions. I am a different student after using MindTap for business law. I knew I would give my all to do well but MindTap assisted me in that success. It was very user friendly, and I was definitely more engaged in the course.

What were your favorite features?The application for my iPhone was AMAZING — it even worked underground on the New York City subways. I enjoyed the scenarios too, because I’m a visual learner. They were fun and helped me understand the material. I loved that we got multiple attempts to answer questions, so I was in control of my grade. Finally, although I enjoyed MindTap’s digital resources I still appreciate having a paper copy of the text material. I was able to have that with the print feature, which let me print whatever pages I wanted.

How did MindTap affect your motivation and confidence?One of the reasons for leaving school several years ago was that I wasn’t motivated to learn. College reminded me of high school, where the teacher talks, you listen, and you either understand and pass or are confused and fail. Using MindTap made learning fun for me, and gave me confidence in my learning and my grade. The confidence came from being able to learn the material in more than one way, through hypothetical questions, scenario videos, flashcards, and more. These resources helped the material to stick in my head.

Would you recommend MindTap to other students?I already have! It was so good that I recommended it to an older classmate who gets anxious whenever we have to use technology for our studies. I explained to her that MindTap is user friendly and showed her how to use it and she loved it. She was no longer the same nervous classmate — she was much happier and confident. As for me, I would absolutely use MindTap again in the future.
