Progressive Discipline
For incidents regarding dress code violation, property damage (major), possession of contraband, being under the influence or fighting, students may be referred to administration immediately for intervention. This student may be returned to class if the situation is appropriate.
Initial discipline of student misconduct is handled within the classroom. This initial work needs to be documented in the eReferral so that when an administrator or counselor meets with a student and/or parent we can easily show them all the ways that every member of the Lancer team has attempted to support and reach out to the student before escalation of discipline occurred.
The PBIS team will be working with all of us on implementing the behavior matrix schoolwide this year.

Progressive Discipline - Dress Code and Cell Phones
DRESS CODE ENFORCEMENT Students in violation of the dress
code policy will be brought in and given the opportunity to change and remain on campus
Notify security if a student needs to be taken to the office for an incident
CELL PHONES Teachers must enforce
electronic and cell phone policy. However, security will be responsible for physical confiscation of cell phones

Please document all attempts to contact parents on eReferral, and in your personal records
If the undesired behavior persists, this referral will be reviewed by the appropriate counselor or administrator, and all info on the eReferral will be inputted into PowerSchool
Students benefit from good documentation. This way if parents/guardians come to meet with administration or counselors they can see the number of times the school attempted to intervene.

Hall PassesDO NOT ALLOW A STUDENT TO LEAVE YOUR CLASS WITHOUT A
PASS!
• EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Do not allow students to exit your class during the first ten (10) minutes. This time allows security to clear the campus.
• There is a 10 minute limit for students being out of class. This ensures that a student returns promptly and does not miss instruction.
• Each teacher will receive two clip on hall passes from Lifetouch that students can attach to their current ID.
• Yellow paper passes or the clip on passes can be used to go to the office regardless if the student is expected to return or not. ONE student per pass. If the student uses the clip on pass and does not return to your class, you may need to come to the main office to retrieve your own pass.
• If two or more students need to exit your class to go to the main office building, library/media center, counselor, other teacher, etc., please write a yellow pass for each student.
• Never:•Allow more than one student to exit the class to go to the bathroom or locker at the same time.•Place several students on “time-out” outside of your classroom.•Dismiss your class before the bell rings.
