• It is a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

• Access resources, College information and websites• Take part in online activities • Talk to students and tutors alike • Submit your work• Learn at any time in any place• Research Hopwood and beyond • Find out what’s happening at Hopwood

• usernames and passwords are the same as the computer network

To register on a course the students need to 1. Login in to Moodle

2. Click on the 3. Find the course in the list that then comes up and click

on the course name 4. This will give access to the course, on the left click on

the ‘Enrol me in this course’ link under the ‘Administration’ menu

5. A page then comes up ‘You are about to enrol yourself as a member of this course. Are you sure you wish to do this?’ click yes and set up is complete

Looks something like this

The ‘Welcome’ button takes you to the welcome page; this is a good place to start if you have any problems accessing the site

My courses will display a list of all the course areas you have access to when you login

This gives a list of all the areas on the VLE, please have a look around

If you need to contact Hopwood click here

Clicking on the date in the top right and calendar will come up

By clicking on the on the house on the left you will go back to the home page

Moodle has a “Stay Safe” button which learners can use to let a member of college staff know about a safety concern. This offers an ongoing means of communication for our students to make us aware of issues that are causing them concern.

Click on the button, fill in the questions and one of the Safeguarding team will get back to you within 24 hours

Your courses will appear in a list You can see the full list of course areas

that you have access to by clicking on the My Courses button

You will have more courses in the list then you are studying. This is so you can access all parts of Moodle. This list may take 24 hours to set up

If you can’t find the course you are studying on please ask a member of staff

• Moodle is available from outside the college, from anywhere that has internet access
