The CPE-approved Student Contract is a legal contract that binds both School of Music and the Arts
Pte Ltd and the student that embodies the following mandatory requirements:
STANDARD STUDENT CONTRACT
1. Clear definition of course details – course title, pre-requisites, qualification awarded, course
duration
2. Full disclosure of all costs for course fees and miscellaneous fees
3. Commitment to Student Protection Scheme (School of Music and the Arts Pte Ltd has adopted
the LONPAC Insurance BHD Insurance scheme for its students)
4. Clear definition of refund policies
Students may request for a copy of the PEI-Student Contract from School of Music and the Arts Pte
Ltd ([email protected]) or view it on the CPE website (www.ssg.gov.sg)
Each enrolled student of the School will sign a standard Student Contract, where one copy will be
given to the student.
Each Student Contract is meant for admission to one course only and individual student contracts
will be entered with each student admitted into the courses offered.
Any amendments made to the Student Contract must be accompanied with an acknowledgement
signatory by both the school staff and student.
If a student wishes to repeat a module, a new Student Contract (or addendum) has to be issued.
The execution of the Student Contract shall be in accordance with the Operation Manual on
Procedures for Executing Student Contract.
STANDARD STUDENT CONTRACT
The terms and conditions of the contract are to be explained to each student and it is the
responsibility of the school to ensure that each student fully understands them.
Both the student and the school should acknowledge any amendments made to the contract.
Students are given a 7-day cooling off period from date of signing the student contract, whereby
should they decide to withdraw from the course, maximum refund shall apply.
The College shall ensure that a template of the Student Contract is made available for prospective
students on the School Website.
The Student Contract Execution procedures will be reviewed on an annual basis for continual
improvement by the Independent Internal Process Auditor through the IPRAA.
Note: CPE’s Standard PEI-Student Contract should be adopted for all students recruited.
STANDARD STUDENT CONTRACT
School of Music and the Arts Pte Ltd will provide the Student with a cooling-off period of 7 working
days after the date that the Contract has been signed by both parties. The student will be refunded
the highest percentage (stated in Schedule D) of the fees already paid if the Student submits a
written notice of withdrawal to the School of Music and the Arts Pte Ltd within the cooling-off
period, regardless of whether the Student has started the course or not.

The School has the right to suspend a students from his/her course of study under the followingunsatisfactory conditions:
• Misconduct or unacceptable behaviours
• Repeated poor academic performance
• Violation of the School’s policies
• Financial Reasons
• Suspicion or confirmation of infectious or contagious disease
SUSPENSION OF STUDIES
Minor conduct
Frequent Lateness for Classes / Leaving Class Early / Absent From Class Without Valid Reasons • Warning letter and counselling shall be given to students who are frequent latecomers, leave classes early or absent from class without valid reasons.
Foul / Abusive Language / Rumours Mongering / Slanderous allegations directed at Fellow Students / Staff / Office Bearers / Business Associates with the School • All students are required to practice courtesy to all fellow students, staff, office bearers, or business associates at all times. • Students shall avoid arguments, use of foul or abusive language, threats, insults, defamation, slandering and etc.
Consumption Of Alcohol • Students shall not be allowed to consume alcohol in the School

Smoking on Campus Grounds • As this is a smoke-free campus, students are expected to adhere to the policy during their course of study. • Those who are caught smoking inside the campus will be subjected to disciplinary action.
Disruptive Behaviour / Mischief During Lessons • Students are expected to be attentive during class at all times. Should they create a nuisance or disturb students in class or disrupt lecturers from lecturing, the lecturers reserve the right to warn the students or send them home if the warning is not taken seriously. • Lecturers shall report the students to the PA. The Campus Manager shall determine if a counselling session is needed.
Inappropriate Dress Code • Students are expected to adhere to the dress code policies during their course of study. They should ensure appropriate dressing in order

Criminal Offences / Theft Criminal offences include, but not limited to:-• Creating fights or injuries on another party in the School’s premises • Conduct which is likely to endanger the life or injure other classmates • Drugs possession / consumption • Any other serious offences, criminal or otherwise • International Students who work / moonlight illegally• Stealing of School properties or student valuables
Vandalism or Mishandling of Office Premises / Assets / Properties (Major) • In the event if the student has vandalized or mishandled the Institute’s premises, assets, music
instruments or properties for whatsoever reason, the student shall compensate the Institute or replace the damaged items.

Falsification of Information • Information provided to the school for the purpose of course application procedures, attendance administration must be accurate, complete and truthful.
• Falsification of information is a serious offence which may result in expulsion.
Cheating • Any form of plagiarism or cheating in assignments, projects or examinations will result in a fail grade for the unit and administrative fee may apply.
Students caught signing / marking attendance for friends • Disciplinary actions shall be taken on students who are found to have cheated in their attendance taking. • Both students would be dealt with seriously and may be subjected to expulsion.

Working while on Student Pass • Students on Student Pass that have been caught working will be immediately expelled and reported to ICA.
Students caught smoking • The School is a strictly non-smoking campus. Students caught smoking will be immediately expelled.
Unauthorised Use of School Venue • Students caught using the school venue for unauthorised purposes may be subjected to expulsion.
MISCONDUCT
Student will be informed that his/her study has been suspended and will be notified of the reason(s)for the suspension. Where appropriate, the student will be given a return-to-study date andinformed of any conditions that must be met before he/she can resume study.
Student identified with any of the above condition(s) will undergo investigation and counselling. Thestudent may appeal to the Institute within seven (7) days from the date of notification of thesuspension. The appeal will be reviewed by the panel that comprises of the Instructor-in-charge,Admissions & Student Services HOD and CEO.
SUSPENSION OF STUDIES
EXPULSION FROM THE SCHOOLA student found guilty of committing any of the following may be expelled from the School:
• Caught signing / marking attendance for friends• Caught smoking• Unauthorised Use of School Venue• Unrepentant behaviour after undergoing counselling • Student Pass being cancelled by ICA for whatever reason(s) • Student with repeated poor academic performance and unresponsive to academic assistance and
counselling offered by the School• No improvement or repeat occurrence of suspension of study condition • Action or behaviour which is threatening, abusive or likely to cause alarm, harassment or distress • Violation of Singapore law • Student is MIA/AWOL/not contactable for more than 7 days from final warning email.
Student will be notified of the reason(s) for expulsion. The student may appeal to the School within seven (7) days from the date of notification of the expulsion. The appeal will be reviewed by the panel that comprises of the Instructor-in-charge, Admissions and Student Services HOD and HOD. The decision of the panel shall be final. In the event that the student is expelled from the course by the School, there will be no refund of any course fees.
Students must certify through a Pre-Course Counseling Form that theAgent or Designated Staff of the PEI has performed counseling services inthe areas required by the PEI, which may include:

Providing professional guidance and advice regarding the suitability of PEI’s courses to the prospective students
Future career prospects upon completion of PEI’s courses

is required for all new students

DIPLOMA IN MUSIC PRODUCTION & ENGINEERINGExplore and learn about the production of music recordings in the music industry
today. Students will master a wide range of music software for MIDI arranging, audio
editing and multitrack recording. This 1-year programme will al low students to acquire
basic and advanced production skil ls and audio engineering principles such as
recording and mixing techniques, understanding acoustics and working effectively in a
Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) studio environment.

Lessons are conducted twice a week, every Mon and Wed, from 7 – 10 pm
Intake commences every April of the year.

DIPLOMA IN SONGWRITING AND PRODUCTIONMaster each step of the songwriting process from music theory, ear training, keyboard
skil ls and harmony, to songwriting, arranging and production skil ls.
This 1-year programme aims to fully equip students with the creative approaches and
technical skil ls to excel in the local music industry as a songwriter and producer, all the
students will leave with studio-recorded albums of songs written, arranged and
produced by them.

Breakdown of all fees (including any non-refundable fees and discounts given) will be reflected on the
School’s marketing collaterals and the standard Student Contract.
Students will be notified of the payment modes accepted by the School during the Pre-Course
Counselling session.
Registration fees shall be collected upon receipt of the student application.
Any other fees shall only be collected upon execution of the standard Student Contract. The School
shall not collect any fees exceeding the fee collection cap stated in the Student Contract.
All payments received by the School shall be accompanied with a receipt, and records of each payment
must be continuously maintained.
