STUDENTS ORGANISED EVENTS IN "ADAVITYA-2K16"
B.Tech.-I Year students had organised 9 events in "ADAVITYA-
2K16" in which students of our institute as well as of many other institutes had taken part with great spirits. This show provided the newly enrolled DAVIETians of 2015 batch to unleash their hidden talent being a fresh lot of budding technocrats a platform to showcase their skills, explore their ideas & execute them well. Innovative ideas of the event organisers were praiseworthy. The participants exhibited tremendous zeal and enthusiasm in the event

PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS IN "SCI-BRATION 2016"
The first year students of DAVIET took part in "SCI-BRATION 2016" held at KMV, Jalandhar on 20.2.2016. It
was the celebration of Science and Innovation under Star College Scheme sponsored by Department of
Biotechnology (DBT) Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India). 27 students of DAVIET participated
in various events like – Sci-Skit-The Drama Contest, Sci–Colours – The Rangoli Contest, Sci–Creative- The
Collage Contest, Sci-Bauddhic- The Quiz Contest, Sci-Expression – The Scientific Speaking Contest listed

PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS IN "SCI-CARNIVAL 2016"
On 05-Feb-2016, Science Departments of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized "SCI-CARNIVAL 2016"
sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Vice
Chancellor of DAV University Dr. A.K. Paul was the chief guest of the carnival. The following Students of
B.Tech.-I year had participated in the different events and shown their talent in the arena and joined the
carnival with full enthusiasm and spirit. The Head of the Department Dr. K. L. Singh congratulated the
students as well.

In order to orient the students towards new avenues of success through exposure towards the cutting edge
pedagogic frameworks and the currents in the sphere of education, the Department of Applied Sciences is a
leading one spreading the red carpet for the experts and connoisseurs in its constitutive subjects at regular
intervals. Need it be made understood that such recurrent interfaces with the aficionados of the subjects like
Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English serve as the manure for the prolific imagination of the students
engendering the fertilization of new ideas and knowledge. Expert talks, Extension Lectures, Orientational
Workshops, etc. go a long way in inspiring and emboldening the students towards the higher reaches of the
subjects. A glimpses of such goings-on is as follows:
PAPER PRESENTATION COMPETITION
A “Paper Presentation Competition” was organised by the Student Consortium Department of Applied Sciences
for B. Tech. first year students on 30 sep, 2015. In this competition students presented their ideas on various
topics related to social, technical and environmental issues. There was a tie for first position between Mr.
Simran Thakur and Mr. Varunjeet, Second position was grabbed by Ms. Kritika Sehdev and third position was
hold by Mr. Jatin Talwar.
