MSoc. Sc. in Service Management: Student Bios 2014
1
1
Preface
This MSc.Soc SEM 2014 Student Bio has been prepared to assist the students, the advisory board of the
Service Management Master program, and other interested parties in this study to gain an overview of the
student’s background; in addition, it serves as an information base for the TCM center to analyze, so as to
obtain an in-depth insight into the expectation of most of the students from this program. Furthermore,
this Bio will also function as a reference for TCM to fine tune the course content to meet prospected stu-
dents perspectives as well as the labor market’s demand.
In 2014, 91 students were enrolled to the MSc.Soc. SEM study, which is taught in English. Of these 91 en-
rolled students, approximately 50 participated in the intro days (27th – 30th of August).
It is voluntary for students to hand in their bio, and a total of 49 students have chosen to contribute to the
Bio publication.
It is hoped that this booklet will contribute to connecting students and to create basis for contacts between
students and businesses.

Journeys…are one of the most important part of my life and the reason for which I applied to enhance my
knowledge about this domain. Travelling makes me free and makes me meeting some people, sharing
experiences and feelings. Travelling for me is the second nature. What can work better with a journey? A
good book; therefore books are another interest.
Something about me
Having an international experience, I had to work with a lot of people during my Erasmus framework, so
working in groups not only that is challenging, but also help building new growing perspectives as from
every individual you have something to learn.
The type of environment which is international is in the same time a creative one as every international
works in a different way, so creation and diversity is perfect match
I would prefer to be a specialist in the domain in which I am working with, being the best is a key-point in
my motivation and makes me continuing this way to achieve it.

ranged role is what I think helps to produce better results – applied in any situation really – and is the key to

Upon graduation, my dream is to become an event organizer and work for a Greek
event management company. The types of events that fascinate me are festivals,
fairs, promotions and product launches, fundraising and social events. Αn event
demands a group of people working together and needs a lot of things to be done (food, equipment etc) so
that it can be considered as a successful one. I would really like to become a coordinator because I want
everything to pass through my hands and control.

In my free time, I love to play sports, primarily ice hockey. The many years of playing ice hockey have
thought me, that as a team you can prevail victoriously if you work as a team, even though you are not
better skilled than the opposition. In addition to the importance of teamwork, the sport has thought me
always to strive to do better and never to be satisfied with what you have achieved
Something about me
I am very comfortable in teamwork, based on my background in team sports and from my professional
background where I always have been apart of either a sales team or project group. Furthermore, when in
groups I speak my mind if I see something, which I do not find optimal in order to get to the finish line.
Moreover I find it very motivating to work in an international environment, where I can be inspired and
learn from people from other countries and cultures. In continuation to the above I tend to attract the role
of and organizer or specialist, due to the insight I have gain from my studies and work experiences obtained
both domestically and internationally.

2014-2014 Waitress, Sea Dragon Restaurant, New Zealand
2014-2014 Worker, Ahipara Holiday Park, New Zealand
Linguistic qualifications
Chinese (Mandarin): Native
English: Fluent
Danish: Basic
Main interests
I have passion in tea. Not only because drinking tea is a healthy life-style to fresh up and gain nutrition, but
also because tea itself has stories to tell. Stories about its origination, history, producing progress and
serving art are quite interesting, as well as the eastern philosophy hidden behind it. As for sports, I’m crazy
about surfing and dancing. Because when I surf, I can feel the amazing power of nature attaching to mine
and I get rid of all of the negative thoughts. The latter also happens when I dance.
Something about me
I’m a goal-oriented person. I feel motivated when I’m working on a creative and promising program.
International environment should be perfect for me because as an Asian in Europe, I automatically and am
also willing to take the responsibility of cultural interaction and international business communication.
When it comes to my own business program, I am a progressive thinker while a cautious executor. But when
I’m an employed organizer or executor I turn to be more open to rapid changes in a program. As a group
member I respect all the members’ ideas, finish my task to a best standard as I can and help organizing. I do
not seek to be an organizer in every group I’m in because being organised can learn about the organizer’s
leading philosophy thus I could improve mine. I aim to live every day to the most and learn the most from
everybody and everything.
