♦ Third year students of the Dept. of Chemical Engineering had gone for an Industrial visit to J.K.Paper Mill, Rayagada
on 16th April, 2016. Prof. S.K.Bindhani guided the students on this industrial tour.
♦ Final year students of the Dept. of Chemical Engineering had gone for an Industrial tour to Visakapatnam on 18th
April, 2016. Prof. Suman Mishra and Mr. Pedina Sibakrishna. guided the students on this industrial tour.
STUDY TOUR
♦ Mr. Mrinal Sekhar, Mr.Manav Kumar, Mr. Harsad Kumar and Mr. Rahul Ranjan alongwith their guide Prof. D. K. Samal have been awarded the first prize with gold medalfor the working model ‘Distillation column with moving bubble cap” in the eventChem-E-Model at INNOVA 2K16 conducted by Jadavpur University on 23rd March,2016. Institutes like Heritage College of Technology, Jadav Pur University and HIT,Haldia.participated in the event.
♦ Mr. Swaraj Mohanty , a 3rd year student of the Dept. of Biotechnology, has beenselected for Summer training programme at Centre for Cellular and MolecularBiology (CCMB), Hyderabad.
♦ Ms. Sasmita Sadangi (Dept. of EE), Ms. Sabatini Kartik (Dept. of Meta), Mr. Gyanaranjan Majhi (Dept. of Mechanical ) &Mr. Lokesh Kumar Sabar (Dept. of CIVIL) students of 3rd year has got the meritoriousscholarship from JK Paper Ltd. on 6th May 2016 under educational scholarship scheme.
♦ Mr. Amit Kumar Biswas a student of 3rd year, Dept. of Biotechnology, has been selectedfor Summer training programme at University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, which issponsored by Indian Academy of Science with fellowship Rs. 8000/-.
♦ Mr. Adarsh Goel, Mr. Kuresh Chandra Tripathy, Mr. Smruti Ranjan Nisanka,Mr. N. Choudhury, 3rd year students of Dept. of Civil Engineering attended IIT Mumbai in the Bridge making competition.

♦ Prof. G.R.K.D. Satya Prasad, HOD Dept. of EE, as Principal
Investigator and Dr. Jagadish Panda, Vice –Chairman, GGI as
Co-Principal Investigator submitted a Research proposal of
worth 36 lakhs on “Energy performance of a domestic grid-
tied Zero Energy buildings integrated with onsite renewable
energy technologies” under “Initiative to Promote Habitat
Energy Efficiency (I-PHEE)”supported by DST.
♦ Prof. R.R. Sabat, HOD Dept. of EEE as Principal Investigator
and Mr. G.R.K.D. Satya Prasad, HOD, Dept. of EE as Co-
Principal Investigator presented a research proposal on
“Development of Pico Hydro-Solar-Wind-Hybrid System with
Phytoremediation in Tribal/Hilly areas” worth of 42.36 Lakhs
on 4th May 2016, at the Indian National Science Academy,
New Delhi supported by DST.

Farewell meeting in order to bid adieu to the final year
students(2012-16 batch) on 24th April 2016.Final year
students shared their four years journey in GIET amidst the
