A VOCATION VIEW
The new commandment of love is required of everyone
who follows the risen Lord. How do you fulfill the
commandment? If God is calling you to a Church
vocation, call Fr. Andrew Lauricella at 716-847-5535.

Parish Auction After discussions with a few council members, social
committee members and Father, we have decided to
cancel the auction at this time out of concern for
everyone's health. As we know the facts today, it
appears there could be partial openings by mid-June, but
we would need to wear masks, be socially distant,
etc. With that said, the people we talked with had no
good ideas as to what this would look like or if we could
even pull it off. So hold your treasures until most likely
next year!

Today’s Readings:
Acts 6: 1-7 1 Peter 2: 4-9 John 14: 1-12
“I am the way and the truth and the life,” Jesus says to his disciples in the passage from John we hear today. He is the foundation on which
we build our lives, the cornerstone of our spiritual home. As we continue to celebrate this Easter season, let us listen to God’s word and discern the way, the truth and the life that Jesus reveals to us.
Next week’s readings:
Acts 8: 5-8, 14-17 1 Peter 3: 15-18 John 14: 15-21
Lockdown??? --- "Every coin has two sides."
Due to this uncontrollable and communicable virus, many nations all around
the world have adapted the method of lockdown. What is lockdown?
According to Wikipedia definition, “A lockdown is an emergency protocol
that usually prevents people or information from leaving an area.” In simple
words, lockdown is an initiative that government officials take during the
time of uncontrollable disasters (example pandemic), which harms a large
group of people and in future can harm more people and property. In my opinion, lockdown goes with the phrase, ‘Every coin has two
sides’.
Well, we all are in a period of lockdown. We all have home quarantined
ourselves. Is lockdown a good thing or bad, depends on each individual’s
opinion. For some it’s good and for some it’s not. How is lockdown good? The very first thing is family relations have taken
a good state. We humans, especially earning members of the house, run
behind money in order to provide their families demand. They get less time
to spend with their families. But now, during the lockdown they can spend
time with their families. Hence lockdown has become a reason for strong
family bonds. The second thing that I have personally realized is that money can’t buy
health. In today’s scenario, there are many rich class people who are affected
by this pandemic, but what will their money do when health has already
given up? Hence, I don’t say money shouldn’t be prioritized but health
should be prioritized first. The third and main thing is that our environment became clean. Pollution
has been reduced to 50%, whereas air has become clean. But how is lockdown bad? With the economic point of view, this
pandemic has affected adversely to our and the world economy. Since all the
economic activities have nearly stopped, the supply and demand chain has
been distributed. Demand for goods has increased whereas supply has not
increased, hence the goods that were already stocked are being sold at high
price. Many daily wage workers have lost their jobs, because firms are
suffering losses. Sensex and Nifty touched its lowest point during this period
of lockdown. This pandemic has affected very much. Whole world is suffer-
ing from recession. If this lockdown continues and the situation doesn’t get
better, then the world may face worse recession than in 1930.
So, what is your opinion? What is important – Life or Money?
But in my personal opinion, the economy can be recovered with some hard-
ship but once we lose life it cannot be recovered. Stay Home and Be Safe.
God Bless you all.

A PRAYER FOR MOTHERS
Lord, thank you for all mothers.
For the new ones, who endure sleepless nights with infants
in arms.
For the busy ones, who juggle the pressures of home and
family life.
For the steadfast ones, who nurture and care for our special
vulnerable children.
For the patient ones, who always seek to forgive and engage
with their pre-teens.
For the persistent ones, who cleverly find new ways to
connect with their mini-adults.
For the mother of aunts, who step in to cradle and care for
nieces and nephews.
For all grandmas, who love and support their precious
grandchildren.
For the foster mothers that are called to gather and cover
the fragile ones.
For the mothers who give far beyond their own resources,
who overcome disability to cherish and love.
Thank you, Lord, for all our mothers.
Help us to support them and keep them in our prayers.
May you bless them now on this their special day.
Amen.
