BEARING CHARACTERISTICS

Developed from the principle of Slipjoint, DBA bearings are designed to carry higher point loadings as typically used on columns or corbels supporting a beam. The elastomeric compound, a component part of DBA bearing, is manufactured to comply with the British specification, BS-5400, while the stainless steel, Gr. 316 to Australian specification, AS-1449. A section showing the different components of the bearing is given in Fig. 1. The fixity of the structure could be provided by external dowels. A typical layout of “DBA” bearings is shown in Fig. 2. Installation of such bearings is simple.
